Capital Allowances are allowances which protect
profits or income from taxation.
They are obtained by valuing the plant & machinery
(P&M) & integral features within commercial
property.
Their use is governed by the Capital
Allowances Act 2001 but their origins

Integral Features
For property constructed or purchased since April
2008 you have also been able to claim for integral
features as below:-
 An electrical system (including a lighting system)
 A cold water system
 A space or water heating system, a powered system of
  ventilation, air cooling or air purification, and any floor or ceiling
  comprised in such a system
 A lift, an escalator or a moving walkway
 External solar shading.
