Identifying Learner Needs
Community Training Australia is dedicated to assisting all our clients in their learning endeavours. To
this end it may be necessary to tailor the learning strategy (i.e. lectures, research, practical
demonstration, video, interactive computer, self-paced, self-directed learning) and resources (e.g.
electronic data, workbooks, tapes) to assist individual learner needs.
It is also important that we do not disrupt the learning of one group of clients while attempting to
assist others. The integrity of the Learning Program and the ultimate qualification must be upheld at
all times and the validity of the competencies identified within the Learning Program must also be
maintained.
Often the basis of the diagnostic assessment to determine a learner’s needs will eventuate from the
application of the process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and/or Recognition of Current
Competencies (RCC).
If necessary outside assistance may be sought to conduct learner needs assessment centres.
Any request by staff or learners to modify any Learning Programs (Nationally Recognised or not) will
require approval by the undersigned.
