Abstract Information: Oral / Poster Presentation Guidelines
Oral Presentations are generally split into TWO categories, as follows:
1. Plenary Lectures
Each Plenary lecture is 25 minutes 20 minutes for talks and 5 minutes for Questions/discussion, where these
are presented as debates as well based on the two speakers decision. Speakers should communicate in advance
of the Moderator so that presentations may be coordinated.
2. Oral Sessions
Each Oral Session is 60 minutes in length and comprises two presentations, of 30 minutes each.
Please prepare you presentation in 16:9 format (screen are in format 16:9). We recommend saving in PowerPoint
presentation using PPT(X) format instead of PPS.
3. Speaker Preview Room
All speakers are asked to upload their presentation at the Speaker Preview Room (located in the Registration
area) at least one hour before the beginning of the session or the day before in case of a morning session.

13. About Dubai
Dubai has emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East. Dubai was ranked 44th among
the world’s best financial cities and the world’s 27th richest city in 2012. It is also an international financial
centre and has been ranked 37th within the top 50 global financial cities and 1st within the Middle East.
The city of Dubai is located on the emirate’s northern coastline and heads up the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman
metropolitan area. The emirate of Dubai shares borders with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjah in the
northeast, and the Sultanate of Oman in the southeast.
Cancer, which is now the third leading cause of death in the UAE (after cardiovascular disease and
injury) causing 10% of all deaths in 2010 and 16% of all deaths in the emirate of Abu Dhabi during the
same year. The incidence of all cancers is projected to double by 2020, primarily due to ageing and also
possibly due to increased exposure to risk factors for cancer. Approximately 12.7 million cancer cases and
7.6 million cancer deaths are estimated to have occurred in 2008; of these, 56% of the cases and 64% of the
deaths occurred in the economically developing world.

14. Dubai is known as second largest emirate in UAE which
occupies an area of 3,885kms. Dubai is known as Muslim city,
where tradition plays an important role. Dubai’s fascinating
history and vibrant heritage offers its visitors a glimpse into
its culture. It is one of the biggest business hubs in the world.
It is well known for its warm hospitality and rich cultural
heritage. Most of the Dubai’s tourist attractions include The
Dubai mall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai world trade centre and Dubai
marina. Dubai mall is the world’s largest shopping centre with
1,200 stores in it. Hence some of these facts make Dubai an
interesting place for tourism and business events.
History of Dubai:
800 members approximately of the Bani Yas tribe, led by the
Maktoum family were settled at the mouth of the creek in
1833.As the creek a natural harbour ,Dubai soon became a
center for fishing, pearl and sea trade. By 20th century Dubai
became a successful port. Oil was discovered in 1966; Sheikh
Rashid utilized the oil for revenues to spur the infrastructure
development in Dubai.
