Media Evaluation Question 5
I attracted my audience by using the different conventions of a thriller film. For example
using different camera shots to build up the suspense and make the audience wonder what
is going on and question themselves building up more and more suspense keeping the
viewers on the edge of their seats.
Using real film footage for the filmopening was a very good technique to use. If it is real
footage which I used from the news of real shooting events that happened in history will
scare the audience as it is a real event and start to make the film they are about to watch a
lot more serious. Making the film a lot more serious and getting the audience to
concentrate more will make it easier to scare them when they are focusing on things which
make them more vulnerable for the thrill.
Using different sounds effects within the film opening I believed was quite effective. Using
these loud bangs and shot like sounds addressed the type of filmthat people were about to
start watching being a thriller. The bangs and shots obviously attempting to scare the
audience and create an impact on what they see on the screen at the time showing that it is
something important. Using the build-up of sound effects is very good for keeping the
audience on their toes as it builds suspense and loudness scaring the viewers
