The document summarizes different types of cinemas across the UK, describing their film selections, target audiences, and unique features. Genesis-London appeals to those who enjoy action and mainstream films with large, comfortable seats. The Cornerhouse-Manchester screens indies and documentaries along with mainstream films, and has a restaurant and bookshop, appealing to those seeking something different. 2. Genesis-London
• This Cinema shows popular and highly watched films like Deadpool
and the Revenent which are both very high budget and grossing films.
• This means that this cinema is appealing to people who like watch
action and mainstream films instead of Indie films.
• This cinema seems different to ones like Odeon as its screens aren’t
as big but they have large comfortable lounge chairs instead of single
less comfortable seats, also the interior of it has a 90’s kind of theme
through the lighting and the furniture.

show other Indie films and hold events which usually show
documentary type thinks like Filmed up.
• This means that this cinema appeals to people who like something
different and want to watch something unusual.
• This venue also has a restaurant which cinemas like Odeon don’t hold
but also a more formal and educational book shop where people can
go to read or do work which suggests this is a quite and civilized
cinema.
4. The electric cinema- Birmingham
• This cinema again shows all the popular films which won Oscars but it
also shows older films like the original Charlie and the chocolate
factory.
• This could mean that the cinema could appeal to the older generation
as it is one of the only cinemas which show these kinds of films.
• Due to this cinema being the oldest in the UK it has a very old looking
style to it which make sit unique.
5. Hyde Park Pictures- Leeds
• This Cinema screens what most cinemas show as it only shows
mainstream films and no unique ones like indie films.
• This however means that this cinema will appeal to a bigger audience
as most people want to the see the new big films instead of the small
less known ones.
• Also the layout of this cinema is like any Odeon one as the interior
looks the same and actual cinema screens and seats are idenicle.
6. Zeffirellis- Ambleside
• This cinema screens films which most cinimas show like new films
such as kung fu Panda 3 and Hail Ceaser.
• This however means that this cinema will appeal to a bigger audience
as most people want to the see the new big films instead of the small
less known ones.
• This cinema is different as it has a café, restaurant and live music
which cinimes like Odean lack. This means that Zeffirellis isn’t just for
people to go and see a fil but to do other events.
7. Prince Charlies- London
• This cinema screens the normal films but also classic ones for a lower
price like £1.
• This means that the audience is very large as people who like
watching normal action films but also for people who loved the older
classic films will go.
• This is a lot different from cinemas like cine world due it showing
different types of films and the price is different
8. Watershed- Bristol
• Watershed is a social enterprise and a registered charity. As the
leading film culture and digital media centre in the South West, they
advance education, skills, appreciation and understanding of the arts
with a particular focus on film, media and digital technologies. This
show they show al kinds of films for education value.
• This means that the audience is very different, due to it being a place
of learning which means the main audience is the younger
generation.
• Cinemas like this are a lot different to ones like cine world as they are
used for educational value.
9. Broadway- Nottingham
• This cinema screens films which most cinimas show like new films
such as The revenant and Hail Ceaser however this cinema also has
screens for people who have autism. They have done this because
Children with autism are sensitive to sound and light and they can
find going to the cinema stressful. So, during Supportive Environment
Screenings, low lights are left on in the auditorium and the volume of
the soundtrack is reduced. And it's fine for customers to move
around, make noise or take a break during the film.
• This means that the audience isn’t just for normal people but
disabled ones too.
10. Lyntoncinema- lynton
• This cinema mainly screens indie films but also shows main stream
films so the cinema still makes money.
• Due to this the audience is quite large as it is a mix of people who like
watching the big box office films and others who like watching
independent less known films.
• This is again different to cinemas like Odeon due it showing more
abstract films which are less known.

• The Rio Cinema is an independent art deco picture palace which show
a mixture of arthouse and mainstream films. They also do a key venue
for several film festivals, and home to the London Turkish Film
Festival. We also host special events from the likes of Cigarette Burns

• This means that the audience that go there is massive as many film
lovers go there to see different types of things like film festivals and
art house films as well as mainstream films.
• This is massively different to the likes of cine world as it holds events
such as film festivals which little cinemas do.
