• Advantages
– Central charging block (no multiple power supplies)
– One iTunes account to download Apps to all devices
– Useful as a storage device (easy to see what is missing)
– Apps are always consistent on each device
• Disadvantages
• All devices ARE the same (need to be de-registered via iTunes to be independent)
• Learners have to visit the Learning Resource Centre to use or loan a device
• Apple devices ONLY - Apps can be limited (due to availability via iTunes)

• Advantages
– Very portable
– Multi-input and multi-touch device
– Long battery life
– We use them as a thin client device (remote access)
• Disadvantages
• Costs as much as a traditional laptop; more than a netbook.
• Small keyboard – learners do complain about long-term use
• Small screen – though it IS bigger than a netbook screen
