What is an adjective?
A word that describes something.
Example: The big red house.

Why are they necessary?
They help us describe the world around us
more accurately.

My brother is short, skinny, athletic and
funny.

Physical Appearance        Personality
   Using markers and poster paper, you will
    illustrate 9 of these adjectives to decorate the
    room.
   To do this:
    ◦ 1. Fold the poster paper into 9 equal sections
    ◦ 2. For each section, write a Spanish adjective then
      draw a picture that illustrates that adjective
    ◦ 3. When you are finished, bring poster to me to
      receive credit then tape it to the wall corresponding
      to your period.
    ◦ 4. You have 20 minutes to finish.

   If the subject is plural, you must add an “s” to the
    adjective.

    ◦ EXAMPLES:
        Singular – Carlos es simpatico
        Plural – Carlos y Juanita son simpaticos.
        Singular – Yo soy alto
        Plural – Mi amigo y yo somos altos.

     Would these be with an “s” or without?
     Ellos son perezoso.
     Tu eres aburrido.
     Ustedes son gracioso.
   If the subject is a female/females, you must
    give it a feminine ending.
   If it ends in an “o” change it to an “a”
    ◦ Masculine – Carlos es simpatico.
    ◦ Feminine – Maria es simpatica.
   If it ends in an “or” add an “a”
    ◦ Masculine – Juan es timido.
    ◦ Feminine – Paula es timida.
   If it ends in “e” don’t change it.
    ◦ Masculine – Miguel es inteligente
    ◦ Feminine – Sofia es inteligente
   Make sentences from the subject and
    adjective given. Make sure they agree.
