3. Workshop Description
As the trend in education progresses towards the 21st century classroom,
technology has become instrumental in improving academic
achievement. Inquiry based learning allows students to actively
investigate scientific phenomena and experiment. Allowing students to
independently explore science increases engagement and fosters
authentic learning. Inquiry skills are skills that students can use regardless of
content, thus are invaluable independently. The purpose of this workshop
is to introduce participants to increase guided inquiry in the science
classroom with online labs.
4. Objectives
• Participants will be able to incorporate technology into their classrooms.
• Participants will understand the value of guided inquiry via online labs.
• Participants will interact with a simulated lab.
• Participants will be able to incorporate the guided inquiry with online
labs into their current pedagogical practices.

7. Simulated Labs
Allows for students to manipulate variables and explore
Less time building the lab and cleaning up
Great for schools with less funding or if certain classes require a certain
amount of labs.
