2. D.W. Griffith’s movie iconized the Klan’s feelings and fear from potential African Americans growing in power. The klan not only oppressed African Americans but the 2nd coming of the Klan was focused on anti-immigration and anti-catholic sentiments.

4. The Cold War was an unsettling time in the United States. Many feared that communism was going to take over the world. The Berlin Wall was a symbol of the division in the World. The United States also created HUAC or House of Un-American Activities Committee. This was an agency that could deem anyone un-American and deport or arrest you. The cartoon in the upper left side shows the actual fear American citizens had during this time.
