The mayor will be traveling to Japan from August 1-7, 2011 to strengthen ties with Hiroshima and Uwajima, and explore a possible sister-city relationship with Nagaoka. The trips will allow discussions on economic cooperation, assisting companies, and expanding logistics and tourism. Managing Director Douglas Chin will serve as Acting Mayor during the absence.

order to strengthen our Japanese sister-city ties with Hiroshima and Uwajima and
promote the possibility of a sister-city relationship with Nagaoka. These visits will

economic development, assist companies looking for business opportunities, and
expand logistics and tourism networks.
