2. Ideas and concept
• Narrative – a guy with his love for sports, signs up
for a scholarship abroad in America. He gets the
scholarship and his girlfriend is very upset as he
tells her he will be moving away.
• “I’m addicted in every way” lyrics suggest the girl
will do anything she can to keep him
• As he is about to leave to get on the train, she
runs over and looks down at her stomach
implying that she is pregnant
3. Locations
• There will be a few locations involved in this music
video:
• Gym – Terence weight training
• Astroturf – Terence fitness training
• Home – 2 scenes will be shot here – Terence picking
the letter up from the post box, Terence packing his
things ready to leave
• Train station – Terence leaving
• Car – Terence telling Ola the news – shows her the
letter
4. Performance
• I will be filming in the drama theatre for the
performance part of the music video. The concept
of this is to have a kaleidoscope effect projected
onto Ola as she sings the lyrics.
• The reason for having a kaleidoscope effect is
because it creates lots of movement and also
signifies the lights that would be seen in a club
which is where dance music is mostly played. I also
want there to be flashing strobe lights for the same
reason.
5. Shots
Some of the shots I plan to include:
Extreme close up –
Allows the
audience to get
personal with the
performer, can see
emotions in their
eyes and adds a
dramatic effect
especially if the
close up is of the
performers eyes
staring into the
camera
6. Wide angle shot – This
allows the audience to
see the landscape,
establish the setting as
well as being close
enough to see action
within the perfomers
As there will be scenes in the
car, I would like to use a low
angle shot of Terence driving,
the angle is a more interesting
way of showing him in the car,
and also it is a medium close
up so the audience can see
everything they need to to
know what is going on – e.g.
the performer, hands on the
steering wheel
7. Where has the idea came from
• I have been inspired by Route 94 – My Love ft.
Jess Glynne’s music video due to the editing.
• I have had an idea of editing the footage into
negative as it adds more mystery which is
generally what dance music videos portray
8.
9. Clothes
• I have decided to have the performers dressed in
all black as from research, I have found that the
performers in dance music videos are either in
quite unusual costumes or just black with some
form of colour. As this is a low budget music video
it would be harder for me to get hold of unusual
costumes. In Gorgon City - Ready for your Love, the
colour is in the lighting behind the performer and in
Zinc – Show me, the performer is wearing bright
pink eyeshadow.
