1. Merry Christmas
We have so much to be thankful for
as we look back through the ups
and downs and see the blessings
God has given us through both. As
the elected Christmas letter writer, I
(Chris) am glad to greet you all, at
least till the six-year-old can type –
and then I am so done.
Starting with news of the littlest
Wuthrich - Joanna is 3 and is so
much fun. As she has grown, it has
been fun to watch as her thoughts
(such as shoes) become complete
thoughts (I like these shoes) and
have evolved into sentence
fragments (Gimmie shoes purple!),
that further have become complete
thought out sentences (Dearest
Father, I do so enjoy my purple
shoes and if it would not be too
much trouble as to have you place
them onto my feet, I would greatly
appreciate it.)
OK, that was
exaggerated just a tad but there is a
LOT of stuff going on in that little
head, and most of it is sheer joy unless she’s being sarcastic. I can’t
really tell. Can one be really that
excited about things such as being
asked to put her shoes on, (GO
PUT MY SHOES ON?? THE
PURPLE ONES?? I LOVE YOU
DAD!!!) Other things to elate
about include: the dog, a cookie,
the blanket, sand, a bug, juice
boxes, and my favorite: Eggo
Waffles. I think she is toying with
me. On the other side of the 3 year
old emotion coin we have shoulder
sagging, head hanging, feet
shuffling, bottom lip popping out
kind of sorrow as she slowly exits a
room; stopping and half turning in
the doorway to raise her head so
those big watery eyes can make
contact with my cold cruel heartless
ones to confirm my staunch stance
of the three cookie per hour limit.
