Toddlers In Tiaras Rhetorical Analysis
In the article, "Toddlers in Tiaras" by Skip Hollandsworth, the author's main focus is to make the
audience aware of the dangers involved in child pageantry, and how it can negatively impact the
children who participate. People who enter their kids in these events don't think to consider the
consequences that result from pageant lifestyle. By incorporating strategies of ethos, pathos, and
logos, he is able to make an effective point of argument to persuade the audience. Hollandsworth
makes himself credible by using intelligence, to contact professional people with experience about
his topic, as resources. "CBS Evening News anchors Dan Rather compared the video footage of
JonBenet at pageants to 'Kiddie Porn' "(Hollandsworth 2). Beings ... Show more content on

"A small 2005 study, published in Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment & Prevention, that
involved 22 women, half of whom had participated in child beauty pageants, concluded that there
were 'no significant differences' between the two groups on measures of bulimia, body perception,
depression, and self–esteem. But it did find that the former pageant girls scored significantly higher
on body dissatisfaction, interpersonal distrust, and impulse dysregulation" (Hollandsworth 7). With
this statistic, readers can see the negative effects on a smaller scale which enables them to
understand and agree with what Hollandsworth is saying. "The promise of a tiara has always been a
fast, easy sell to young girls who pine to be princesses– just ask Disney, which reportedly makes
approximately $4 billion annually from its more than 26,000 princess–related retail items. The
connection between princesses and pageants exploded in 1954 with the first televised broadcast of
the Miss America pageant; 27 million viewers tuned in" (Hollandsworth 3). This shows an example
of cause and effect; they can see that the media encourages little girls by giving them an unrealistic
dream in order for them to join pageants. The facts that he uses are based on the idea that pageants
are allowing companies to sexualize children by offering them things that are unnecessary for their
age. "Now,

The Jonbenet Ramsey Case
A child pageant star was found asphyxiated with craniocerebral trauma in the basement of her own
house on the day after Christmas in 1996. Her name was JonBenet Ramsey; she was a six year old
girl who lived with her mother, father and brother in Boulder City, Colorado. Her death shocked the
public and the murderer has yet to be found. Many blame the mistakes the detectives made during
the investigation and her case has gained more recent popularity due to the fact that it has been
approximately twenty years since her unfortunate demise. Patsy and John Ramsey, boulder city
socialites, woke up on December 26, 1996 to find their daughter, JonBenet Ramsey, missing and a
ransom note from "a group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction". ... Show more

McReynolds became a suspect due to his closeness with the Ramsey's and the fact that he was hired
to play Santa Claus for Burke and JonBenet. Also, an original prosecutor in the case reported that
McReynolds gave JonBenet a card with the message, "You will receive a special gift after
Christmas" written on it (Who Is Bill McReynolds? This 'Santa Claus' Was Part of The JonBenet
Ramsey Investigation). Investigators also became suspicious when they found a play his wife had
written which depicted a disturbingly similar situation, but it was coincidental; All DNA and
handwriting samples ruled them out as suspects. Another suspect was John Mark Karr, who
surprisingly confessed to the crime in 2006. At the time, he was living in Thailand and was
connected to child pornography charges in the U.S. but these were dropped. Karr confessed to
having had molested and raped the victim and that he accidentally killed her while assaulting
JonBenet (Where Is John Mark Karr, The Man Who Falsely Confessed to JonBenet Ramsey's

claimed he never confessed in the first place. Both suspects have not been charged with JonBenet's

Jonbenet Murder Theories
An unexpected murder with unexplained evidence all surrounding a 6 year old pageant queen named
JonBenet all happening on the day after Christmas. Although there are many theories about
JonBenet, evidence shows that it was most likely her brother. Jonbenet Ramsey was a beauty
pageant queen that was found dead on the day after Christmas in a storage room in her basement of
her house in Boulder Colorado. Jonbenet was born on August 6, 1990 in Atlanta Georgia, and was
only 6 years old when she was found dead. There was a ransom note left on the stairs addressed to
the dad and when her mom woke up and came down stairs she found it and it was asking for the
exact amount of money of the bonus that the dad got earlier that year. The note was 2 ½ pages long
and was written from a notepad from their house. When she was found she had various wounds,
duct tape over her mouth, garrote around her neck, and she was struck in the head which caused her
to become unconscious (Conrad). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all Jonbenet had an uncontrollable bed wetting problem and one night her mom lost her
temper and struck her in a way that accidentally killed her. Another theory is that her dad sexually
harassed her and after he was afraid that she would tell someone and he would get in trouble and
later killed her. In 2006 a thailand school teacher John Mark Karr confessed to killing Jonbenet
Ramsey. In his earlier years he had child pornography charges in the us. He was immediately
dismissed as a suspect because he was only after notoriety and fame. The last theory is that the
brother was jealous of all the attention she got and on christmas he got a train set and we stabbed her
with it. There was two holes on her neck and it matched up to the train track

Case Analysis : Jonbenet Ramsey
JonBenet Ramsey was born on August 6, 1990 to her parents Patsey Ramsey and John Bennet
Ramsey. JonBenet was a pageant queen, who won many titles. "Those titles include Little Miss
Colorado, Little Miss Charlevoix, Colorado State All–Star Kids Cover Girl, America 's Royale Miss,
and National Tiny Miss Beauty. JonBenet had four siblings: Burke Ramsey, John Andrew Ramsey,
(half–brother), Melinda Ramsey Long, (half–sister), Elizabeth Ramsey, (half–sister), died in 1992 at
age 22. " "JonBenet moved to Colorado when she was just a year old. She attended High Peaks
Elementary School and was a member of St. John 's Episcopal Church of Boulder. JonBenet 's last
pageant was December 17, 1996. She performed "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" and modeled
a few outfits. The competition took place at the Southwest Plaza in Denver, Colorado. She was
crowned Little Miss Christmas and won a medal for talent. She was only six years old when she was
murdered on the night of December 25th, 1996. Her grave lies in Saint James Episcopal Cemetery in
Marietta, Georgia, next to the grave of her mother and sister. As of today, almost 10 years since her
death, her murder remains unsolved." JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in her home on December

Summary: The Murder Of Jonbenet Ramsey
Jonbenet Ramsey (6 years old) was found murdered in the basement of her home in 1996. She had
craniocerebral trauma but died due to asphyxiation. This case gained a lot of attention due to lack of
professionalism on behalf of Boulder police officers and the mystery behind who had killed
Jonbenet.
Who:
Jonbenet was born on August 6, 1990 and died at the age of 6.
John Ramsey, father of Jonbenet, was one of the first suspects that Boulder police looked into as
well as Jonbenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey. He was a very wealthy and successful businessman. Both
parents were immediate suspects due to there being no evidence of an intruder/ kidnapping besides
the ransom note, so they targeted the people that were in the house that night.
Burke Ramsey, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is unknown as to what she was struck with.
Unknown DNA was found in Jonbenet's underwear and under her fingernails.
Unknown palm print was found by the wine cellar where her body was found.
Outcome:
To this day, no one has been charged with the murder of Jonbenet Ramsey. John, Patsy, and Burke
were all cleared as suspects. The Boulder police officers that were at the scene failed to preserve the
scene and therefore the evidence that could've have solved this case was contaminated.
Reflections:
This case caught a lot of media attention, no one expected a rich white family to go through such
tragedy and humiliation due to people accusing them of killing their own child. There is a lot of
mystery involved and people are upset at how this case was mishandled from the beginning. Since
the police only saw the parents as the suspects, the media persuaded the public to believe that the
parents were responsible for the death of Jonbenet. The police also failed to interview the parents
early on in the investigation (as well as other friends, family, and neighbors), so John and Patsy took
their story to the media to express their feelings and tell their side of the story, catching more media

Who Killed Jon Benet Ramsey Essay
WHO KILLED JON BENET RAMSEY? The brutal murder of 6–year–old JonBenet Ramsey on
Christmas night in 1996 shocked America to its core. Just as the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and
murder seven decades earlier had seared the nation's consciousness, this murder – of a beautiful and
talented child in a wealthy Boulder, Colorado home ––renewed every parent's worst nightmare. It
has been nearly three years since this violent crime occurred and no one has been brought to justice.
At 6:48 p.m., Dec. 23, 1996, a 911 call was placed from the Ramsey home to the Boulder Police
Department. The call was terminated before a police dispatcher could speak to the caller. Six
minutes later the police called the Ramsey home, but got a voice–mail ... Show more content on

The police began to suspect that someone in the house was the author of the ransom note. That
suspicion was quickly bolstered when police discovered a note pad in the Ramsey house that not
only was the source of the ransom note, but contained a "practice note" similar to the one given
police by Patsy Ramsey. JonBenet's murder – particularly as the days went by and no arrests were
forthcoming –– quickly became a national obsession, featured day after day on network news,
television tabloid programs, talk radio, newspapers and magazines. Her image flitted across
television screens innumerable times, often showing her in a glittering cowgirl outfit, singing "I
want to be a cowboy sweetheart," or dancing across the stage in a Las Vegas showgirl outfit,
complete with heavy makeup. Her unusual first name became so well known that like Cher and
Madonna she no longer had need of a last name. The public's shock at the murder soon began to
share equal time with its growing dismay at the Boulder police's investigation, a dismay fed by a
steady stream of leaks from the Boulder County prosecutor's office about the inept police
investigation being conducted. For one thing it became known that the police had badly botched the
initial investigation by failing to seal off the crime scene. For another it appeared the police were
treating the primary suspects

Summary: The Mystery Of Jonbenet Ramsey
The Mystery Of Jonbenet Ramsey Basement, 6 year old girl, and strangulation, these three things
are in the Jonbenet's murder case. December 26,1996 at about 5:52 am, Patsy Ramsey called 911 to
report her daughter missing. Patsy found a ransom note on her staircase addressed to John Ramsey.
The note demanded $118,000 and that was the exact amount John's bonus was that year. The
mystery behind Jonbenet can be summed up in two theories: John Mark Karr and the parents and
brother. First, In 1996, the Jonbenet murder case was very popular. Jonbenet was six when she was
murdered. Then, She was a young beauty– pageant star. Jonbenet was found dead in her basement in
Boulder, Colorado 1996. Also, In the Inquirer article it says, "Jonbenet was ... Show more content on

John Karr confessed but failed the DNA test but went to jail for having inappropriate pictures of
kids on his computer. The parents have a lot of evidence against them. Here are the two theories but
no one knows for sure what really happened. Who really killed Jonbenet?

Argumentative Essay: The Murder Of Patsy Ramsey
Based off of my research and all of the documentaries that I have watched over the years, I believe
that Patsy Ramsey killed JonBenet. My first reason for my belief is that on the day JonBenet was
found dead, her mother Patsy claimed she found a two and a half page handwritten ransom note in
their home, demanding the odd amount of $118,000 for JonBenet's safe return. The fact that this
amount was close to what John Ramsey had just received as a work bonus along with the fact that
the police later determined the note was written on paper from a notebook in the Ramsey's house is
very suspicious to me. Why would a kidnapper write a two and a half page note from the residence
requesting that amount of money and then directing them to take it out of their "account"? A ransom
note is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wooden part of the paintbrush was determined to have come from Patsy Ramsey's paint brush
kit. If the motive was murder, then why would someone outside of the home not bring their own
weapon? The cord and broken handle from Patsy Ramsey's paintbrush kit would have taken some
time to make, and why not use something else in the home other than that weapon of choice? My
fourth reason for believing that Patsy Ramsey murdered her daughter is the fact that they denied
feeding JonBenet any pineapple when pineapple was found in her stomach as well as a bowl of
pineapple on their table with their sons finger prints on it. It is suspicious to me that she was
adamant that Burke had slept through the whole event and did not know anything, but did not know
JonBenet's whereabouts the whole night. Lastly, if the whole reason for kidnapping JonBenet was
for a monetary ransom, then why was she found strangled, with a skull fracture, and signs of sexual
assault? If sexual assault was the main purpose, why go through all the trouble of the kidnapping
and a ransom

The Case Of Jonbenet Ramsey
"To serve and protect," isn't that the motto of many law enforcement agencies and what we learn in
beginning criminal justice classes to create a better justice system? In the case of JonBenet Ramsey,
there were many factors in the case that wasn't handed properly which may have led to the unsolved
case. Should the police or prosecutors be blamed for not being able to solve the case? Do crimes go
unpunished each day and finally what responsibility do the police and others hold in cases? These
are all questions we must answer to better understand how our justice system works and the
efficiency level of the members of our government. I personally believe in holding the police and
the entire justice system to a higher standard than other organizations. When looking at the
information from the article, I believe there is a large amount of blame to be placed on a multitude
of people for the justice's system incapability of solving the case. To begin with I think we must
look at the father, of JonBenet. He stated, "Jon Ramsey, picked up and moved his daughter's body
from the storeroom where he found her" (Lyman, 2010, p.9). Now, many may argue that this is okay
to move the body but in reality this simple movement of the body may have tampered with a vital
piece of evidence allowing the killer to remain at large. On a professional level the police and
investigation team are at fault as well. It the article it is mentioned that the Police did not search for
any evidence of the

JonBenet Ramsey Murder Case Essay
After looking over all of the evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case it is clear to me that the
Ramsey family murdered JonBenet. I think that Burke, her older brother, did the actually killing, but
his mother in father aided in the coverup of the crime.
This was the only theory that could make sense to me when considering all the suspects, especially
John and Patsy Ramsey. It was obvious to me that they were involved but the only way that things
truly added up were if Burke did the actual killing.
First of all, it is easy to see a motive with Burke. At the time of his sister's death he was a couple of
weeks away from his birthday. Burke was quiet and his sister
JonBenet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason why I think all of this is because there is no real signs of an intruder.
There is a scuff mark by the basement window but it would be very hard for anyone to get through
that window. Then there was the ransom note. If someone was to leave a ransom note then they
would normally take the person they were holding ransom with them. It didn't make sense that there
was a ransom note and then the dead body in the house. Also, another strange thing about that note
was that it said that JonBenet would be
"beheaded" if they told the police about the ransom or anyone else and that they were watching.
Patsy immediately called the police and friends after reading the note, completely ignoring the
warning. She obviously wasn't worried about this threat at all and the reason why is because she
knew there wasn't one since she wrote the note. Also, handwriting analysts say the note easily could
have been written by Patsy. Not to mention that the paper and pen and a rough draft of the note were
found in their home. If someone was in a rush when kidnapping a child they would have a pre–
written note and definitly would not take the time to write more than one draft of a note. Another
point to be made is that the amount asked for was the exact amount of John Ramsey's bonus that
only his family and people from his company would know about. So either they were

Toddlers In Tiaras Analysis
The article "Toddlers in Tiaras" was written by Skip Hollandsworth, and was published August 2011
in Good Housekeeping magazine. Hollandsworth wrote this article in response to the actual show
"Toddlers and Tiaras" that first aired on December 12, 2008, and reached its all time high with the
production of "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" starring Alana Thompson, aka "honey boo boo". He
contends that children pageants presents, and accentuates the hypersexualization of young girls who
then make it their life's goal to achieve the unattainable goal of perfection. The article can be divided
into six sections. In the introduction Hollandsworth begins the article by first giving us an example

Hollandsworth then goes into details of the absurd amount of money parents invests to pay for their
child to gain the lusted after tiara, some payments way above their income.Hollandsworth then
reverts back to the death of JonBenet Ramsey in the fourth section. He presents that she was the
mark of a pedophile due to her participating in pageants, linking her adversity to a little pageants girl
worst nightmare. According to the Stacy Dittrich, a former detective, a show like "Toddlers and
Tiaras" is the kind of videos pedophiles would watch. The publication of these girls makes it easier
for pedophile to track them down, as their towns and names would be listed on their outing. Though
there is little evidence suggesting that pageants put little girls under risk, many psychologist still
believe that pageants teach girls to be objects of others' gratification. The girls being encouraged to
act in flirtatious manners, understanding that their sexuality will get others' notice. The pageant girls
are learning that outer beauty overshadows all else, including being knowledgeable or resourceful.
They're learning that their natural beauty is never enough, and equaling their self–esteem and worth

Jon Burke Ramsey Murder Case Essay
There is an abundance of evidence in this case, which has produced many theories on how JonBenet
was murdered. A basic Internet search reveals there are endless articles and videos documenting
these theories due to the popularity that this case received. Based on my research, I believe the
Ramsey family, as a whole is culpable for the murder of JonBenet. Burke Ramsey, I believe, is the
actual person who committed the murder and his parents helped cover it up. After watching Chief
James Kolar give a presentation about his book at the Wilkinson Public Library, I began to really
believe there was no possibility of an intruder theory. Instead, he presented facts that made me think
Burke Ramsey was the killer. This prompted me to watch the only ... Show more content on

They believed because DNA from a male not matching anyone in the investigation had meant an
intruder was responsible for the murder. The elite seven used world–renowned forensic criminalist,
Dr. Henry Lee and his laboratory in Connecticut to dispel the concluded interpretation of the DNA
evidence (The Case of JonBenet, 2016). The touch–DNA method is extremely sensitive and Dr. Lee
proved that by testing a pair of brand new panties never opened out of the package. He was easily
able to discover DNA from a female on the underwear, which could have come from someone in the
manufacturing process (The Case of JonBenet, 2016). This explains the male DNA found in
JonBenet's panties and even more so, Dr. Lee explained how this DNA can easily transfer from one

Burke were ruled out for writing the ransom note but, Patsy was never ruled out, professionals found
about two–hundred similarities between the note and her handwriting, she also changed her
handwriting several times (A&E television networks, 2016). Someone would not need to change
their handwriting so many times unless they had something to hide. However, maybe the reason the
crime was never solved was because Patsy had more information. Patsy died of ovarian cancer on

information. To add, Patsy knew there was more information needed to be gathered in the house.
Patsy agreed to not let investigators proceed to gather DNA and information in the house after a few
days of investigating (Ryan Gajauski, 2016). Would she not want all the information needed to find

This reason was because she always got upset and JonBenet when she wetted her bed. Another
reason is because it is said that sometimes Patsy Ramsey would flip a switch in a room, and slam
JonBenet's head against a hard surface. Sometimes including a bathtub or a headboard. Some
investigators also think that Patsy could have killed her daughter because the rope around
JonBenet's neck was made by a homemade garrote determined to have been fashioned out of a
paintbrush taken from Patsy's paint kit that laid near JonBenet when she was found. A very big
possibility is that the letter left on the staircase steps could have been from Patsy after realizing that
she had killed JonBenet. When investigators looked around for possible evidence they found that the
pen that had been used to write the note was from inside the house. (Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?

Jonbenet Ramsey Case Essay
Ramsey's Rightfully Released Jonbenet Ramsey, a six year old beauty queen, was mysteriously
murdered, but by whom? Jonbenet's murderer was never found after twenty years of investigations.
She was a beauty pageant queen who was brutally murdered in her home in Boulder, Colorado, on
December 25, 1996. Many believed the parents murdered Jonbenet, which is why the case was
controversial. In the 1996 controversial court case over Jonbenet Ramsey's death, the innocent
verdict correctly acquitted the family of the murder by evidence which proved the family's
innocence, including DNA that did not belong to anyone in the family, a ransom note found the
night of the murder, and signs of a break in to the family's house. During the investigation of ...

John and Patsy Ramsey's were required to do a test on the handwriting. Caitlin Hacker from
popsugar news, pointed out that neither John nor Patsy's handwriting matched the ransom note after
tests were completed (Hacker). The evidence proved neither Patsy or John wrote the ransom note. In
order for the parents to be involved their handwritings needed to match. To add to the evidence that
proved Jonbenet's parents innocence the note was specifically written to John, which explained why
it asked for his yearly bonus amount. Psychologist Stephen A. Diamond noted the ransom note is
aimed toward John rather than Patsy, the note begins addressing John(Diamond). It showed the
writer knew John, or been a business partner of his. John had a large business, and could have had
many enemies. In the handwriting analysis, it pointed to a person of origin who did not originally
come from America. Stephen A. Diamond also stated that certain words in the ransom note
demonstrate the possibility that the person who wrote it may not be a US citizen or may have
originated in another country(Diamond). The ransom note also stated " Listen carefully! We are a
group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction"(Diamond). The Foreign group may be
new to the English language, so they messed up certain words or phrases. Also the ransom note

Summary: The Murder Of Jonbenet Ramsey
It's the morning of December 26th, 1996. Police cars scatter the scene searching for a missing 6 year
old pageant queen; JonBenet Ramsey. The house is flooded with neighbors and officers as they
search for any evidence. An officer tells John and Patsy Ramsey to search for anything suspicious.
John makes a bee–line to the basement. What he finds is JonBenet. Covered in her favorite white
blanket, beaten, strangled, sexually assaulted, she was dead. He carried her up the stairs, frantic,
destroying any evidence. An unsolved murder mystery changing the lives of the Ramsey's and
history itself forever. What if I told you that maybe JonBenet knew her killer? Suspicious behavior

With the unknown footprints, the baseball bat in the bush, and the open window with the suspicious
suitcase, this almost leads it to think that an intruder broke in and killed JonBenet. But, there's a flaw
in those. They had a Christmas party. Patsy always showed off her house in Christmas parties which
could explain the boot print and the small packing peanuts (because it was Christmas) fluttering
around the basement. The bat and window could have also been staged completely. It was their
property so of course her fingerprints would be all over it (though that isn't a fact that her
fingerprints were found although they could have been I'm not really sure). But the confessions and
evidence just doesn't add up with the story. The pieces never really add

Indirect Murder Cases
While many thousands of murder cases go unsolved every year, it is a probable assumption that the
general public would most likely only be able to name all they knew on one hand. In no particular
order, the top three reoccurring would most likely be: the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson
and Ron Goldman (estranged ex–husband Orenthal James Simpson), the 2008 murder of Caylee
Anthony (mother Casey Anthony), and the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey (Patsy, John, and
Burke Ramsey). As all of these are high–profile cold–cases, all of them have thoroughly
investigated not only by local investigators but also through the public eye, yet no charges have been
filed against any party. Two of the three cases show blatant similarities one is that two of the three
happened within the first six years of life (Caylee Anthony and JonBenet Ramsey), and in these
cases the mothers were investigated more than any other possible suspect. One man has reviewed
these previous cases in addition to multiple others, Stephen Diamond, who is a clinical and forensic
psychologist in Los Angeles is further reviewing the JonBenet murder from the stance of a
psychologist, just after the case has been cold for twenty years. Diamond is not writing this article to
solve the crime, or even attempt to, but to offer a forensic psychologist's viewpoint. The main ...

2009)." One friend even helped clean the kitchen, wiping down the counters with a spray cleaner
possibly wiping away evidence. Many hours passed before police blocked off the basement room. A
pathologist did not examine the body until more than 18 hours after the crime took place (Bardsley,
M., & Bellamy, P. n.d.). The type of evidence that was found in the JonBenet Ramsey case was
both latent and visible. DNA traces were found on the child's body and clothing, and footprints were
analyzed in the basement. In addition, a ransom note was found on the stairs by the mother Patricia
Ramsey. Fibers from blankets, carpet, clothing, bedding, car interiors and other materials can be
identified and traced by the forensic team. The different between the latent and visible evidence are
as follows According to Saferstein, R. (2011), "Latent evidence is evidence at a crime scene that
cannot be seen with the eyes. Examples might be a blood stain that was bleached out, or semen
stains that can't be seen without special lighting, or a fingerprint on an on even surface, such as a
tree (pp. 400)." Saferstein, R. (2011), also argues that visible evidence are made when an object
touches a surface after the ridges have been in contact with a colored material such as blood, paint
grease, or ink, (pp. 400, para. 1). I do not believe that there was a secure chain of custody due to the
fact the crime scene had already been contaminated. However, once the evidence was collected the

When finding his daughter, he went directly to the basement of his home (Rolling Stone). This was
an odd place for him to go first because it was rarely used. Once he found his daughter's body, he
moved it, removed the duct tape on her mouth, and covered her with a blanket, even though he had
been ordered to leave everything as he found it (Rolling Stone). This destroyed physical evidence.
Besides this, John was alone when he discovered the crime scene, so there is nobody else to confirm
or deny what happened upon finding her. Local police found no sign of forced entry, further pointing
blame towards someone who was already in the home (Crimefeed). A few things in the note tie
evidence to John Ramsey, as well. For one, the money demanded for ransom was $118,000. That is
a strange amount to ask for, especially seeing as it was the exact amount John received for a
Christmas bonus (Statement Analysis). Why would a killer have that number on their mind while
writing a ransom note? The note also gives the Ramsey's a 10 a.m. deadline before the kidnappers
were to kill JonBenét, but John and his wife let the deadline pass without alerting authorities
(Rolling Stone). There were also several computer terms in the note, such as 'monitor' and 'scanned'
in the note. This is likely a coincidence, but John Ramsey was president of a computer company at
the time of the murder (Statement Analysis). Later, a detective heard John on the phone making
plans to fly his family to Atlanta. At first it seemed as if John were running from the police, but it
was later determined that he had been advised to take his family and get out of Colorado, so they
wanted to go back to their old home of Atlanta (Rolling Stone). Although he was not avoiding the
cops then, he did on June 24, 1998, when he agreed to talk to attorneys as long as there were no cops

Behavioral Science Unit hired by the Ramseys to examine the case, theorized the note was written
before the murder by an inexperienced, young perpetrator who borrowed lines from the movies
Ransom ("she dies") and Speed ("Don't try to grow a brain").", this is a line from the article " 20–
Year Murder Mystery Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey " (2016) Michael Baden has 60 years of
experience and he thought that this ransom note was strange or unusual . Like the length of the
ransom note it was really long so it would have took time to write it. Asking for $118,000 is a very
specific amount and the other weird part is that not very many people knew that John Ramsey had
got this exact same amount for a bonus. " And Michael Baden, a board certified forensic pathologist
with both former District Attorney Alex Hunter as well as Ramsey supporter Lou Smitt regarding
the JonBenet case says, The whole ransom note is, in my experience of 60 years, not a usual ransom
note. I don't think it was written by an outside stranger. And more so than the writing itself is how it
was done: the pen, the paper, the length of time it took to do it without being discovered. Then there
is the extremely unusual ransom request for $118,000: Only a very few people knew John Ramsey

Jonbenet Ramsey Conspiracy Theory
What was believed to be a kidnapping of 6–year–old, JonBenet Ramsey, ended up to be the
discovery of her dead body by her father in the basement, after multiple hours of searching in
Ramsey's house (Saferstein, 2015.) A major issue with the case was that the house was not sealed
off, and multiple people, including their pastor, were able to go to and from with no complications
(Saferstein, 2015.) In defense of the police team, in the beginning, they had believed it to be a
kidnapping with a note and all, and in the end, it turned out to be a murder. Of course the media's
eyes immediately turned to the parents but one of the theories is, "The current theory stands that an
intruder, with possible paedophilic motives, was responsible for her death, and while this has
become a widely accepted working theory, there are several pieces of evidence that simply don't add
up" (Team, 2016.) The ransom note was 2 and a half pages long, her body was found in the
basement of the families home, the cause of death showed strangulation and a blow to the head an
hour or so before, and also pineapple that she had eaten recently with a bowl that led to her brother's
fingerprints were all clues that didn't add up (Team, 2016.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Criminal Profiling, A Powerful Tool Essay
Criminal profiling can be a rather useful tool for criminal investigators of all kinds. Many
departments use profiling to catch terrorists, gangs, cyber–crimes, counter intelligence, white collar
crimes, and most of all serial killers. How criminal profiling works is by looking at the behavior of
the criminal to gain insight into his or her personality. A doctor does the same thing when looking at
symptoms to diagnose a certain disease. Being able to understand this person's personality leads you
one step closer to catching him or her. The history of profiling starts as early as the 1800s. Criminal
profiling is what it is today because of the contributions of those investigators of that time. The first
documented case that profiling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were no clear signs of forced entry which means the suspect had been in the house before and
knew his way around. The time that the kidnappers said they would call came and went, which
should have been a big clue that something was wrong. The house was then completely searched
and in the basement the body of JonBenet was found. JonBenet's body was found with her hands
over her head with a cord, along with a cord around her neck. She was covered up with a white
blanket with duct tape on her mouth. The fact that she was covered means that the suspect felt some
kind of remorse for what they did. It could have been someone that JonBenet knew. Now the
autopsy confirmed how she was murdered. It was confirmed that she died by strangulation along
with blunt force trauma to the head and some trauma to the vaginal tissue. Drawing from the
information on the autopsy we may conclude that someone brought JonBenet down to the basement
to sexually assault her and took it too far. The suspect may have gotten angry with her which is why
there was bruising on her face and neck. Once she was dead the suspect may have freaked out and
decided to make a ransom note and hide the body to cover up the crime. Now there was a lot of
other evidence that was gathered at the scene of the crime along with examples of both parents
handwriting to compare to the ransom note. Then we look at the victim's life. JonBenet was
homeschooled but did participate in pageants which put

WHO KILLED JON BENET RAMSEY?
The brutal murder of 6–year–old JonBenet Ramsey on Christmas night in 1996 shocked America to

nation's consciousness, this murder – of a beautiful and talented child in a wealthy Boulder,
Colorado home ––renewed every parent's worst nightmare. It has been nearly three years since this
violent crime occurred and no one has been brought to justice.

A cursory search of the house was made, including the basement. One small storeroom in the
basement was skipped when John Ramsey reportedly said it had been painted shut.
The police left a few hours later to obtain a warrant to search the house for evidence of a break–in.
When they returned, they were surprised to find what appeared to be a young child lying under the
Christmas tree. It was JonBenet. She appeared to be dead, and appeared to have been dead for a
period of time.
John Ramsey told Detective Arndt that he had found JonBenet in the wine cellar in the basement,
underneath a blanket, with a piece of tape covering her mouth. John Ramsey had removed the tape
from her mouth before he carried JonBenet upstairs to the first floor. There appeared to be a piece of
cord loosely tied around JonBenet's right wrist. There were bloodstains in the crotch of her panties,
but not on her skin. In addition, there were dark fibers on her skin, in the vaginal area, that caused
police to believe her body had been wiped down with a cloth. Apparently, during the police''s
absence John Ramsey and a family friend searched the house themselves.
Fingers of suspicion were pointed quickly in the direction of John Ramsey. The foregoing search
warrant affidavit was filed the same day JonBenet's body was found, and the resulting search
warrant was the instrument by which her body was removed from the house (normally a body would
be removed with consent). In addition to

Why Is Jonbenet Ramsey Important
JonBenet Ramsey Annotated Bibliography Several huge and important celebrities have had
mysterious deaths. What happened? Was it an accident? Did someone kill them? If so, who killed
them? These are all important questions to think of when thinking of such a death. I researched
JonBenet Ramsey, a beauty pageant queen, whom was gorgeous, talented, and young. December 26,
1996, she was found murdered in the basement of her own home. The cause of death was
suffocation. According to police reports, " JonBenet was found in the small room covered with a
blanket, her wrists were tied above her head, her mouth was covered with tape, and a nylon cord
was wrapped around her neck". There were also signs of sexual assault before she had been
murdered. In fact, that there was a possibility of her having been sexually assaulted more than just
right before her death. The prime suspects for the case were, of course, her parents. A note was left
behind prior to the finding of the body, stated that if the Ramsey's wanted to see their daughter again
that they would have to attain $ 1118,000 from Mr. Ramsey's account. This note was obviously not

The Jonbenet Ramsey Case
JonBenet Ramsey Case The murder of JonBenet Ramsey was carried out by blunt force trauma to
the head. Although the exact weapon used to kill JonBenet is unknown, it is thought to be a
flashlight. The wound found on her head matches that of a large flashlight, most likely with
batteries. Another possible weapon found at the scene was a rope connected to a stick, known as a
garrote. JonBenet was found dead on the morning of December 26th. The murder happened either
late Christmas night or early December morning. Evidence shows that it would have been
impossible for an intruder to enter through the basement window, so they would of had to enter
through a more obvious location, such as a door or another window. In the case of a family member

Although an accident, Burke became upset when JonBenet stole a piece of his pineapple. Out of
sheer anger, I believe Burke grabbed the closest weapon around, the flashlight, and struck his sister

emotion, which may also give reason he committed the crime. I also believe that his parents'
discovered what he had done and tried to cover it up with the ransom note and by contaminating the
crime scene. They understood that Burke could not control what he had done. Also, they lied to
police, saying Burke was asleep during the whole incident. In one of Burke's interview, he is very
hesitant answering questions about that night, which further raises suspicion towards him. Pieces of
Burke's toy train are thought to have left marks on his sister. With all of the evidence, suspicious

she was strangled to death. Besides the bruises on her neck that implied the strangulation, a garrote
was also found tied around her. Before JonBenét was found in the basement, her family found a
ransom note on the staircase. Even with all of the evidence that has been gathered, there has been no
one charged with the murder of JonBenét. There has been a lot of suspicion about who actually
killed her, but research gives a lot of reason as to why it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a few different reasons as to why we should all believe that is was Burke who murdered
JonBenét. One reason that her brother would have killed her was because of jealousy. After
JonBenét was born, all of the attention Burke used to get from his parents, especially his mom, went
to JonBenét instead. Patsy, Burke and JonBenét's mother, was a beauty queen in pageants, so she
was really excited to have a girl to enter into beauty pageants to be just like her. JonBenét was
always getting her mother's attention because they were always getting her ready for the next
pageant. Whether it was spending time doing makeup, hair, or getting new clothes, the time was not
being spent with Burke, which is all the more reason as to why he would have killed his sister.
Being jealous is not the only reason he would have killed her, though. In an interview, Judith
Phillips, a Ramsey friend, talked about how Burke had bad flashes of temper and would sometimes
get angry easily (York). Maybe JonBenét did something to upset Burke and he, in that moment, got
angry with her and killed her. Not only did Burke have a bad temper, but there was a previous
encounter between Burke and JonBenét about a year before her murder. Miss Phillips also claimed
that the encounter involved Burke hitting his sister in the face with a golf club, leaving a scar on her
cheek. There were some pieces of evidence that were found at the crime scene that would also lead
someone to believe that it was her brother that killed her. For example, not only did they find the
garrote, but they also found a piece from a broken wooden paint brush that had belonged to Patsy
(Diamond). If the Ramsey family members were the only ones in the house at the time that the
crime was committed, the only answer to the murder would be that it was someone from within their
household. There is also reason to believe that it was her brother who killed her because the autopsy

Jonbenet Ramsey Case Study
The Mysterious Murder of Innocence
On average about one third of murders go unsolved in America. Jonbenet Ramsey was murdered in
1996 on December 26 and was later found by her Father John Ramsey in the basement of her home
in Boulder, Colorado. To this day her death remains unsolved with several fascinating theories
encompassing her murder and the events leading up to it.
The mystery behind child beauty queen Jonbenet Ramseys murder can be summed up into two
theories connecting her parents to the crime or one of Johns coworkers. The investigation into the
murder of Jonbenet Ramsey was marred from the outset by such police errors as allowing Ramsey
family and friends to contaminate the crime scene before securing the area, allowing her father to
search the house unaccompanied by police, and letting family members remove items from the
home before the investigation was completed. This case highlights the need for proper crime scene
management (Katz 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Investigators suspect that the murder was unintentional. The killer supposedly had intimate
knowledge of the house. The most enticing theory is that Jonbonets father John Ramsey and
Jonbonets mother Patricia Ramsey committed the crime. The theory is that Patricia caught John
sexually assaulting their daughter and when trying to hit him over the head with a flashlight she
accidently hit Jonbenet instead this would explain why the couple would need to lie for each other
and try to cover up the murder together. There has been assumption that Jonbenet was killed in the
basement. Her body was very clearly moved. She had been placed in her favorite blanket in a dryer
that was near her room. This shows the love that the killer had for her. She had to have been lifted
by a strong adult and placed in the most obscure part of the

Jonbenet Ramsey Case Summary
JonBenet Ramsey was an interesting case, she was a child beauty queen that was murdered in her
house late at night in Colorado in 1996. Her father, John Ramsey, later found her body in the
basement along with a ridiculously long ransom note 8 hours after she was reported to be missing.
Her autopsy revealed that she was strangled and got hit in the head, which was estimated as her
cause of death. Back to the ransom note, it was sitting on the kitchen table in the Ramsey house and
demanded a whopping $118,000. The note was very detailed and the ransom itself demanded for
$118,000, the exact amount of money that John Ramsey received as a bonus that year, raising even
more suspicions about the Ramseys. Suspicions that the parents and brother ... Show more content

He was originally a math prodigy and even went to Harvard and received a BA from there, both
chose to give up that lifestyle and to reside in a primitive–nature style type of environment starting
in 1971. For 7 years everything was peaceful, but starting in 1978, Kaczynski began his bombing
campaign to bring attention after deeming that living in nature is untenable. He even wrote a letter to
The New York Times and stated that he would stop his bombing campaign if the Times or The
Washington Post would publish his manifesto, in which he wrote that his bombing methods were
extreme but needed to bring attention to what technology has done to human principles such as
freedom and dignity. Between 1978 and 1995, Kaczynski created bombs that would result in injuries
to 23 different individuals and the death of 3. Documentation in the case that was actually
significant was the manifesto that Kaczynski wrote, called Industrial Society and Its Future, in
which Kaczynski's brother, David, recognized his brother's handwriting and tipped the FBI off. He

Jonbenet Ramsey Case
Being asked to come to a conclusion as to who killed JonBenet Ramsey is very challenging . This is
due in part to the fact that there are multiple people who could have killed her. With that being said,
I am going to do my best to demonstrate who I think had more of a motive to kill her. JonBenet
Ramsey was a vibrant six year old beauty queen who was well advanced for age. I believe that one
of John Ramsey's employees at Access Graphics killed JonBenet. My justifications follow.
It is well–known that the Ramsey's threw vibrant parties for the employees of Access Graphics.
Some of these parties took place within the family home. The children partook in these festivities.
Thus ,exposing the girl to a potential killer. The killer would have been able to learn the outlay of
the family home.
The ransom note comes into play here. In my previous complete section, I discussed the fact that
there were no reported finger prints located on the ransom note when it was examined. The murderer
would have to have been planning on doing said act for quite some time in order to leave no
evidence behind.
The autopsy report revealed death by asphyxiation associated with a skull fracture. Further
examination by the coroner revealed that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is my belief that the person who killed her had in–depth knowledge of the workings of the family.
The little girl had to have known her killer which is why she did not scream or lash out against an
intruder. The indication of sexual assault reveals that the killer believed that they may have had a
relationship with the young girl. Given the fact that the girl did not appear to be fully penetrated, as
evidenced by her autopsy report, indicates that the killer may have had remorse for their actions, if
the girl rejected them. Instead of being found out, the killer strangled the girl in attempt to keep their

Patsy Ramsey Research Paper
The Ramseys were a privileged family living in Boulder Colorado. Patsy Ramsey and John Ramsey
gave birth to two children. Little 6 year old pageant Queen JonBenet and 9yr old Burk. However the
family had a terrible surprise the night after Christmas.
December 26th, 1996 Boulder, Colorado, little 6 year old JonBenet was pronounced missing by the
Ramseys. Patsy Ramsey calls police and reports kidnapping with ransom note. Upon arrival; there
were two detectives, there was a patrol group, and they were already looking for JonBenet. Ransom
asked for $118,000, and they would kill JonBenet if they didn't cooperate. Police asked them to
retrace steps where they got up on christmas day, opened presents, went to friend's house and came

The note asked for $118,000, and that's how much jonbenet's father got as a bonus earlier that year.
On top of that pineapple was found in her stomach which means that JonBonet was killed by
someone close to her. One theory that was presented that she deceived by someone who knew,
before being attacked.
More importantly the fingerprints of Burke was found on the bowl of pineapple discovered in the
kitchen post murder. While Burke was questioned briefly, he was never seriously considered as a
suspect and was often shielded by his parents. Burke was only other person in home, was the center
of attention until Patsey came along. Burk even had emotional outbreaks which included hitting
JonBenet with golf club.. Ramsey family could have covered case up to protect Burk
JonBenét's body was found in the basement of the family home there was a cord tied around her
neck, her wrists were tied above her head and there was some tape over her mouth., the location of
her body was unusual. However, taken together with the ransom note, this does start to appear
questionable. Why would someone claim to have kidnapped JonBenét and demand ransom only for
her to be already dead inside the home she was supposedly removed

Who Killed Jonbenet Ramsey Bereavement Conspiracy Theory
JonBenet Ramsey bereavement conspiracy theory! By: Elizah jean Paragraph 1: Who killed
JonBenet Ramsey? JonBenét Patricia Ramsey was a six–year–old American girl found dead in her
family's home in Boulder, Colorado, on December 26, 1996. The murder was unsolved for more
than 20 years. But the Ramsey were the suspects for more than a decade. Paragraph 2: Conspiracy
theorists believes bizarre idea that Katy Perry is Jonbenet Ramsey, in a recently YouTube video from
December 2014, Dave Johnson the YouTube user that bolster his claim, including the fact that
Jonbenet's parents, look remarkably similar to Perry's own parents, pastors Keith Hudson and Mary
Perry. Another theorist with the YouTube username Jungle Surfer also pointed to the fact that Perry
and Jonbenet look alike, right down to their similar eyebrows. Paragraph 3: "The Case: of Jonbenet
Ramsey'' ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why does this matter? Well, it happens to the theory that whoever killed Jonbenet fed her shortly
before her murdered, meaning she knew her killer but Burke's fingerprints were on the bowl make
him again the suspect. Paragraph 8: In 2006, CNN published an article entitled, "Did Santa Claus
Kill Jonbenet?" The title referred to Bill McReynolds, who played Santa Claus along with his wife,
Janet, who played Mrs. Claus, in the Ramsey's home just two days before Jonbenet's death. Well,
while at the Ramsey's home, McReynolds apparently gave Jonbenet a Christmas card the read, "You
will receive a special gift after Christmas" The McReynolds also had their own daughter abducted
exactly 22 years to the day before Jonbenet's death, and Janet McReynolds had written a play about
a child that was found murdered in a basement. Paragraph 9: In August of 2006, a man named John
Mark Karr started a media firestorm after claiming that he murdered Jonbenet and that her death was
an accident. His, DNA did not match was found on Ramsey's

Toddlers In Tiaras Rhetorical Analysis

  • 1. Toddlers In Tiaras Rhetorical Analysis In the article, "Toddlers in Tiaras" by Skip Hollandsworth, the author's main focus is to make the audience aware of the dangers involved in child pageantry, and how it can negatively impact the children who participate. People who enter their kids in these events don't think to consider the consequences that result from pageant lifestyle. By incorporating strategies of ethos, pathos, and logos, he is able to make an effective point of argument to persuade the audience. Hollandsworth makes himself credible by using intelligence, to contact professional people with experience about his topic, as resources. "CBS Evening News anchors Dan Rather compared the video footage of JonBenet at pageants to 'Kiddie Porn' "(Hollandsworth 2). Beings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "A small 2005 study, published in Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment & Prevention, that involved 22 women, half of whom had participated in child beauty pageants, concluded that there were 'no significant differences' between the two groups on measures of bulimia, body perception, depression, and self–esteem. But it did find that the former pageant girls scored significantly higher on body dissatisfaction, interpersonal distrust, and impulse dysregulation" (Hollandsworth 7). With this statistic, readers can see the negative effects on a smaller scale which enables them to understand and agree with what Hollandsworth is saying. "The promise of a tiara has always been a fast, easy sell to young girls who pine to be princesses– just ask Disney, which reportedly makes approximately $4 billion annually from its more than 26,000 princess–related retail items. The connection between princesses and pageants exploded in 1954 with the first televised broadcast of the Miss America pageant; 27 million viewers tuned in" (Hollandsworth 3). This shows an example of cause and effect; they can see that the media encourages little girls by giving them an unrealistic dream in order for them to join pageants. The facts that he uses are based on the idea that pageants are allowing companies to sexualize children by offering them things that are unnecessary for their age. "Now, ... • 3. The Jonbenet Ramsey Case A child pageant star was found asphyxiated with craniocerebral trauma in the basement of her own house on the day after Christmas in 1996. Her name was JonBenet Ramsey; she was a six year old girl who lived with her mother, father and brother in Boulder City, Colorado. Her death shocked the public and the murderer has yet to be found. Many blame the mistakes the detectives made during the investigation and her case has gained more recent popularity due to the fact that it has been approximately twenty years since her unfortunate demise. Patsy and John Ramsey, boulder city socialites, woke up on December 26, 1996 to find their daughter, JonBenet Ramsey, missing and a ransom note from "a group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction". ... Also, an original prosecutor in the case reported that McReynolds gave JonBenet a card with the message, "You will receive a special gift after Christmas" written on it (Who Is Bill McReynolds? This 'Santa Claus' Was Part of The JonBenet Ramsey Investigation). Investigators also became suspicious when they found a play his wife had written which depicted a disturbingly similar situation, but it was coincidental; All DNA and handwriting samples ruled them out as suspects. Another suspect was John Mark Karr, who surprisingly confessed to the crime in 2006. At the time, he was living in Thailand and was connected to child pornography charges in the U.S. but these were dropped. Karr confessed to having had molested and raped the victim and that he accidentally killed her while assaulting JonBenet (Where Is John Mark Karr, The Man Who Falsely Confessed to JonBenet Ramsey's Murder, & What is He Doing Now?). • 5. Jonbenet Murder Theories An unexpected murder with unexplained evidence all surrounding a 6 year old pageant queen named JonBenet all happening on the day after Christmas. Although there are many theories about JonBenet, evidence shows that it was most likely her brother. Jonbenet Ramsey was a beauty pageant queen that was found dead on the day after Christmas in a storage room in her basement of her house in Boulder Colorado. Jonbenet was born on August 6, 1990 in Atlanta Georgia, and was only 6 years old when she was found dead. There was a ransom note left on the stairs addressed to the dad and when her mom woke up and came down stairs she found it and it was asking for the exact amount of money of the bonus that the dad got earlier that year. The note was 2 ½ pages long and was written from a notepad from their house. When she was found she had various wounds, duct tape over her mouth, garrote around her neck, and she was struck in the head which caused her to become unconscious (Conrad). ... In 2006 a thailand school teacher John Mark Karr confessed to killing Jonbenet Ramsey. In his earlier years he had child pornography charges in the us. • 9. Summary: The Murder Of Jonbenet Ramsey Jonbenet Ramsey (6 years old) was found murdered in the basement of her home in 1996. She had craniocerebral trauma but died due to asphyxiation. This case gained a lot of attention due to lack of professionalism on behalf of Boulder police officers and the mystery behind who had killed Jonbenet. Who: Jonbenet was born on August 6, 1990 and died at the age of 6. John Ramsey, father of Jonbenet, was one of the first suspects that Boulder police looked into as well as Jonbenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey. He was a very wealthy and successful businessman. Both parents were immediate suspects due to there being no evidence of an intruder/ kidnapping besides the ransom note, so they targeted the people that were in the house that night. Burke Ramsey, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is unknown as to what she was struck with. Unknown DNA was found in Jonbenet's underwear and under her fingernails. Unknown palm print was found by the wine cellar where her body was found. Outcome: To this day, no one has been charged with the murder of Jonbenet Ramsey. John, Patsy, and Burke were all cleared as suspects. The Boulder police officers that were at the scene failed to preserve the scene and therefore the evidence that could've have solved this case was contaminated. Reflections: This case caught a lot of media attention, no one expected a rich white family to go through such tragedy and humiliation due to people accusing them of killing their own child. There is a lot of mystery involved and people are upset at how this case was mishandled from the beginning. Since the police only saw the parents as the suspects, the media persuaded the public to believe that the parents were responsible for the death of Jonbenet. The police also failed to interview the parents early on in the investigation (as well as other friends, family, and neighbors), so John and Patsy took their story to the media to express their feelings and tell their side of the story, catching more media ... • 11. Who Killed Jon Benet Ramsey Essay WHO KILLED JON BENET RAMSEY? The brutal murder of 6–year–old JonBenet Ramsey on Christmas night in 1996 shocked America to its core. Just as the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and murder seven decades earlier had seared the nation's consciousness, this murder – of a beautiful and talented child in a wealthy Boulder, Colorado home ––renewed every parent's worst nightmare. It has been nearly three years since this violent crime occurred and no one has been brought to justice. At 6:48 p.m., Dec. 23, 1996, a 911 call was placed from the Ramsey home to the Boulder Police Department. The call was terminated before a police dispatcher could speak to the caller. Six minutes later the police called the Ramsey home, but got a voice–mail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The police began to suspect that someone in the house was the author of the ransom note. That suspicion was quickly bolstered when police discovered a note pad in the Ramsey house that not only was the source of the ransom note, but contained a "practice note" similar to the one given police by Patsy Ramsey. JonBenet's murder – particularly as the days went by and no arrests were forthcoming –– quickly became a national obsession, featured day after day on network news, television tabloid programs, talk radio, newspapers and magazines. Her image flitted across television screens innumerable times, often showing her in a glittering cowgirl outfit, singing "I want to be a cowboy sweetheart," or dancing across the stage in a Las Vegas showgirl outfit, complete with heavy makeup. Her unusual first name became so well known that like Cher and Madonna she no longer had need of a last name. The public's shock at the murder soon began to share equal time with its growing dismay at the Boulder police's investigation, a dismay fed by a steady stream of leaks from the Boulder County prosecutor's office about the inept police investigation being conducted. For one thing it became known that the police had badly botched the initial investigation by failing to seal off the crime scene. For another it appeared the police were treating the primary suspects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Summary: The Mystery Of Jonbenet Ramsey The Mystery Of Jonbenet Ramsey Basement, 6 year old girl, and strangulation, these three things are in the Jonbenet's murder case. December 26,1996 at about 5:52 am, Patsy Ramsey called 911 to report her daughter missing. Patsy found a ransom note on her staircase addressed to John Ramsey. The note demanded $118,000 and that was the exact amount John's bonus was that year. The mystery behind Jonbenet can be summed up in two theories: John Mark Karr and the parents and brother. First, In 1996, the Jonbenet murder case was very popular. Jonbenet was six when she was murdered. Then, She was a young beauty– pageant star. • 16. Argumentative Essay: The Murder Of Patsy Ramsey Based off of my research and all of the documentaries that I have watched over the years, I believe that Patsy Ramsey killed JonBenet. My first reason for my belief is that on the day JonBenet was found dead, her mother Patsy claimed she found a two and a half page handwritten ransom note in their home, demanding the odd amount of $118,000 for JonBenet's safe return. The fact that this amount was close to what John Ramsey had just received as a work bonus along with the fact that the police later determined the note was written on paper from a notebook in the Ramsey's house is very suspicious to me. Why would a kidnapper write a two and a half page note from the residence requesting that amount of money and then directing them to take it out of their "account"? A ransom note is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wooden part of the paintbrush was determined to have come from Patsy Ramsey's paint brush kit. If the motive was murder, then why would someone outside of the home not bring their own weapon? The cord and broken handle from Patsy Ramsey's paintbrush kit would have taken some time to make, and why not use something else in the home other than that weapon of choice? My fourth reason for believing that Patsy Ramsey murdered her daughter is the fact that they denied feeding JonBenet any pineapple when pineapple was found in her stomach as well as a bowl of pineapple on their table with their sons finger prints on it. It is suspicious to me that she was adamant that Burke had slept through the whole event and did not know anything, but did not know JonBenet's whereabouts the whole night. Lastly, if the whole reason for kidnapping JonBenet was for a monetary ransom, then why was she found strangled, with a skull fracture, and signs of sexual assault? If sexual assault was the main purpose, why go through all the trouble of the kidnapping and a ransom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. The Case Of Jonbenet Ramsey "To serve and protect," isn't that the motto of many law enforcement agencies and what we learn in beginning criminal justice classes to create a better justice system? In the case of JonBenet Ramsey, there were many factors in the case that wasn't handed properly which may have led to the unsolved case. Should the police or prosecutors be blamed for not being able to solve the case? Do crimes go unpunished each day and finally what responsibility do the police and others hold in cases? These are all questions we must answer to better understand how our justice system works and the efficiency level of the members of our government. I personally believe in holding the police and the entire justice system to a higher standard than other organizations. When looking at the information from the article, I believe there is a large amount of blame to be placed on a multitude of people for the justice's system incapability of solving the case. To begin with I think we must look at the father, of JonBenet. He stated, "Jon Ramsey, picked up and moved his daughter's body from the storeroom where he found her" (Lyman, 2010, p.9). Now, many may argue that this is okay to move the body but in reality this simple movement of the body may have tampered with a vital piece of evidence allowing the killer to remain at large. On a professional level the police and investigation team are at fault as well. It the article it is mentioned that the Police did not search for any evidence of the ... • 20. JonBenet Ramsey Murder Case Essay After looking over all of the evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case it is clear to me that the Ramsey family murdered JonBenet. I think that Burke, her older brother, did the actually killing, but his mother in father aided in the coverup of the crime. This was the only theory that could make sense to me when considering all the suspects, especially John and Patsy Ramsey. It was obvious to me that they were involved but the only way that things truly added up were if Burke did the actual killing. First of all, it is easy to see a motive with Burke. At the time of his sister's death he was a couple of weeks away from his birthday. Burke was quiet and his sister JonBenet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason why I think all of this is because there is no real signs of an intruder. There is a scuff mark by the basement window but it would be very hard for anyone to get through that window. Then there was the ransom note. If someone was to leave a ransom note then they would normally take the person they were holding ransom with them. It didn't make sense that there was a ransom note and then the dead body in the house. Also, another strange thing about that note was that it said that JonBenet would be "beheaded" if they told the police about the ransom or anyone else and that they were watching. Patsy immediately called the police and friends after reading the note, completely ignoring the warning. She obviously wasn't worried about this threat at all and the reason why is because she knew there wasn't one since she wrote the note. Also, handwriting analysts say the note easily could have been written by Patsy. Not to mention that the paper and pen and a rough draft of the note were found in their home. If someone was in a rush when kidnapping a child they would have a pre– written note and definitly would not take the time to write more than one draft of a note. Another point to be made is that the amount asked for was the exact amount of John Ramsey's bonus that only his family and people from his company would know about. So either they were ... A basic Internet search reveals there are endless articles and videos documenting these theories due to the popularity that this case received. Indirect Murder Cases While many thousands of murder cases go unsolved every year, it is a probable assumption that the general public would most likely only be able to name all they knew on one hand. In no particular order, the top three reoccurring would most likely be: the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman (estranged ex–husband Orenthal James Simpson), the 2008 murder of Caylee Anthony (mother Casey Anthony), and the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey (Patsy, John, and Burke Ramsey). Chain of Custody & Preservation of Evidence Chain of Custody & Preservation of Evidence Idris Rawls Westwood College It does not matter the reputation you have earned for your high integrity and honesty, you will always be open to allegations of civil or criminal liability. The first type of evidence and usually the most obvious is physical evidence. Evidence can be anything from tangible objects such as cartridge cases and firearms to latent fingerprints and DNA. Evidence collection or recovery step in crime scene processing is the methods, techniques, and procedures used in retrieving evidence. Patience and care are very important at the crime scene. The criminalist should take the proper time and care in processing the scene. The work is tedious and time consuming. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2009)." One friend even helped clean the kitchen, wiping down the counters with a spray cleaner possibly wiping away evidence. Many hours passed before police blocked off the basement room. A pathologist did not examine the body until more than 18 hours after the crime took place (Bardsley, M., & Bellamy, P. n.d.). The type of evidence that was found in the JonBenet Ramsey case was both latent and visible. DNA traces were found on the child's body and clothing, and footprints were analyzed in the basement. In addition, a ransom note was found on the stairs by the mother Patricia Ramsey. Fibers from blankets, carpet, clothing, bedding, car interiors and other materials can be identified and traced by the forensic team. The different between the latent and visible evidence are as follows According to Saferstein, R. (2011), "Latent evidence is evidence at a crime scene that cannot be seen with the eyes. Examples might be a blood stain that was bleached out, or semen stains that can't be seen without special lighting, or a fingerprint on an on even surface, such as a tree (pp. 400)." Saferstein, R. (2011), also argues that visible evidence are made when an object touches a surface after the ridges have been in contact with a colored material such as blood, paint grease, or ink, (pp. 400, para. 1). I do not believe that there was a secure chain of custody due to the fact the crime scene had already been contaminated. However, once the evidence was collected the ... • 44. John Ramsey Research Paper A young girl, a six–year–old beauty pageant queen, was found brutally slaughtered in her home the morning after Christmas in 1996. Who killed the defenseless little girl? The JonBenét Ramsey murder was one of the most chilling cases of its time. The investigation caught the public eye around the world and was a center for tabloids, newspapers, and TV news alike. Now, twenty years later, the world is still captivated by this bizarre crime. What really happened on that fateful winter night? Was it the mother who snapped in a fit of rage over a bed–wetting accident? Or did the neighborhood Santa Clause become a little too enthralled with the tiny beauty queen? Whatever the case, this tragedy has been under investigation for twenty years, and ... Once he found his daughter's body, he moved it, removed the duct tape on her mouth, and covered her with a blanket, even though he had been ordered to leave everything as he found it (Rolling Stone). This destroyed physical evidence. Besides this, John was alone when he discovered the crime scene, so there is nobody else to confirm or deny what happened upon finding her. Local police found no sign of forced entry, further pointing blame towards someone who was already in the home (Crimefeed). A few things in the note tie evidence to John Ramsey, as well. For one, the money demanded for ransom was $118,000. That is a strange amount to ask for, especially seeing as it was the exact amount John received for a Christmas bonus (Statement Analysis). Why would a killer have that number on their mind while writing a ransom note? The note also gives the Ramsey's a 10 a.m. deadline before the kidnappers were to kill JonBenét, but John and his wife let the deadline pass without alerting authorities (Rolling Stone). There were also several computer terms in the note, such as 'monitor' and 'scanned' in the note. This is likely a coincidence, but John Ramsey was president of a computer company at the time of the murder (Statement Analysis). Later, a detective heard John on the phone making plans to fly his family to Atlanta. At first it seemed as if John were running from the police, but it was later determined that he had been advised to take his family and get out of Colorado, so they wanted to go back to their old home of Atlanta (Rolling Stone). Although he was not avoiding the cops then, he did on June 24, 1998, when he agreed to talk to attorneys as long as there were no cops present (Crimefeed). There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Investigators were able to determine the cause of death, but not who killed her. It has been over twenty years now, and the crime is still unsolved. Before John found his daughter's dead body, his wife, Patsy Ramsey, stumbled across a three–page ransom note on the stairs of their mansion. The ransom note stated that 180,000 dollars should be dropped off at a certain location in exchange for their JonBenet's return. Like the length of the ransom note it was really long so it would have took time to write it. Asking for $118,000 is a very specific amount and the other weird part is that not very many people knew that John Ramsey had got this exact same amount for a bonus. " And Michael Baden, a board certified forensic pathologist with both former District Attorney Alex Hunter as well as Ramsey supporter Lou Smitt regarding the JonBenet case says, The whole ransom note is, in my experience of 60 years, not a usual ransom note. I don't think it was written by an outside stranger. And more so than the writing itself is how it was done: the pen, the paper, the length of time it took to do it without being discovered. Then there is the extremely unusual ransom request for $118,000: Only a very few people knew John Ramsey had [just] gotten a $118,000 bonus." (Bane, 2016). Jonbenet Ramsey Conspiracy Theory What was believed to be a kidnapping of 6–year–old, JonBenet Ramsey, ended up to be the discovery of her dead body by her father in the basement, after multiple hours of searching in Ramsey's house (Saferstein, 2015.) A major issue with the case was that the house was not sealed off, and multiple people, including their pastor, were able to go to and from with no complications (Saferstein, 2015.) In defense of the police team, in the beginning, they had believed it to be a kidnapping with a note and all, and in the end, it turned out to be a murder. Of course the media's eyes immediately turned to the parents but one of the theories is, "The current theory stands that an intruder, with possible paedophilic motives, was responsible for her death, and while this has become a widely accepted working theory, there are several pieces of evidence that simply don't add up" (Team, 2016.) The ransom note was 2 and a half pages long, her body was found in the basement of the families home, the cause of death showed strangulation and a blow to the head an hour or so before, and also pineapple that she had eaten recently with a bowl that led to her brother's fingerprints were all clues that didn't add up (Team, 2016.) ... Many departments use profiling to catch terrorists, gangs, cyber–crimes, counter intelligence, white collar crimes, and most of all serial killers. How criminal profiling works is by looking at the behavior of the criminal to gain insight into his or her personality. A doctor does the same thing when looking at symptoms to diagnose a certain disease. Being able to understand this person's personality leads you one step closer to catching him or her. The history of profiling starts as early as the 1800s. Criminal profiling is what it is today because of the contributions of those investigators of that time. The first documented case that profiling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were no clear signs of forced entry which means the suspect had been in the house before and knew his way around. The time that the kidnappers said they would call came and went, which should have been a big clue that something was wrong. The house was then completely searched and in the basement the body of JonBenet was found. JonBenet's body was found with her hands over her head with a cord, along with a cord around her neck. She was covered up with a white blanket with duct tape on her mouth. The fact that she was covered means that the suspect felt some kind of remorse for what they did. It could have been someone that JonBenet knew. Now the autopsy confirmed how she was murdered. It was confirmed that she died by strangulation along with blunt force trauma to the head and some trauma to the vaginal tissue. Drawing from the information on the autopsy we may conclude that someone brought JonBenet down to the basement to sexually assault her and took it too far. The suspect may have gotten angry with her which is why there was bruising on her face and neck. Once she was dead the suspect may have freaked out and decided to make a ransom note and hide the body to cover up the crime. It has been nearly three years since this violent crime occurred and no one has been brought to justice. When they returned, they were surprised to find what appeared to be a young child lying under the Christmas tree. It was JonBenet. She appeared to be dead, and appeared to have been dead for a period of time. John Ramsey told Detective Arndt that he had found JonBenet in the wine cellar in the basement, underneath a blanket, with a piece of tape covering her mouth. John Ramsey had removed the tape from her mouth before he carried JonBenet upstairs to the first floor. There appeared to be a piece of cord loosely tied around JonBenet's right wrist. There were bloodstains in the crotch of her panties, but not on her skin. In addition, there were dark fibers on her skin, in the vaginal area, that caused police to believe her body had been wiped down with a cloth. Apparently, during the police''s absence John Ramsey and a family friend searched the house themselves. Fingers of suspicion were pointed quickly in the direction of John Ramsey. The foregoing search warrant affidavit was filed the same day JonBenet's body was found, and the resulting search warrant was the instrument by which her body was removed from the house (normally a body would be removed with consent). Did someone kill them? If so, who killed them? These are all important questions to think of when thinking of such a death. I researched JonBenet Ramsey, a beauty pageant queen, whom was gorgeous, talented, and young. December 26, 1996, she was found murdered in the basement of her own home. The cause of death was suffocation. There were also signs of sexual assault before she had been murdered. In fact, that there was a possibility of her having been sexually assaulted more than just right before her death. The prime suspects for the case were, of course, her parents. The murder happened either late Christmas night or early December morning. There has been a lot of suspicion about who actually killed her, but research gives a lot of reason as to why it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a few different reasons as to why we should all believe that is was Burke who murdered JonBenét. One reason that her brother would have killed her was because of jealousy. After JonBenét was born, all of the attention Burke used to get from his parents, especially his mom, went to JonBenét instead. Patsy, Burke and JonBenét's mother, was a beauty queen in pageants, so she was really excited to have a girl to enter into beauty pageants to be just like her. JonBenét was always getting her mother's attention because they were always getting her ready for the next pageant. Whether it was spending time doing makeup, hair, or getting new clothes, the time was not being spent with Burke, which is all the more reason as to why he would have killed his sister. Being jealous is not the only reason he would have killed her, though. In an interview, Judith Phillips, a Ramsey friend, talked about how Burke had bad flashes of temper and would sometimes get angry easily (York). Maybe JonBenét did something to upset Burke and he, in that moment, got angry with her and killed her. Not only did Burke have a bad temper, but there was a previous encounter between Burke and JonBenét about a year before her murder. Miss Phillips also claimed that the encounter involved Burke hitting his sister in the face with a golf club, leaving a scar on her cheek. There were some pieces of evidence that were found at the crime scene that would also lead someone to believe that it was her brother that killed her. For example, not only did they find the garrote, but they also found a piece from a broken wooden paint brush that had belonged to Patsy (Diamond). If the Ramsey family members were the only ones in the house at the time that the crime was committed, the only answer to the murder would be that it was someone from within their household. Jonbenet Ramsey was murdered in 1996 on December 26 and was later found by her Father John Ramsey in the basement of her home in Boulder, Colorado. The mystery behind child beauty queen Jonbenet Ramseys murder can be summed up into two theories connecting her parents to the crime or one of Johns coworkers. The investigation into the murder of Jonbenet Ramsey was marred from the outset by such police errors as allowing Ramsey family and friends to contaminate the crime scene before securing the area, allowing her father to search the house unaccompanied by police, and letting family members remove items from the home before the investigation was completed. Her father, John Ramsey, later found her body in the basement along with a ridiculously long ransom note 8 hours after she was reported to be missing. Her autopsy revealed that she was strangled and got hit in the head, which was estimated as her cause of death. Back to the ransom note, it was sitting on the kitchen table in the Ramsey house and demanded a whopping $118,000. • 74. Jonbenet Ramsey Case Being asked to come to a conclusion as to who killed JonBenet Ramsey is very challenging . This is due in part to the fact that there are multiple people who could have killed her. With that being said, I am going to do my best to demonstrate who I think had more of a motive to kill her. JonBenet Ramsey was a vibrant six year old beauty queen who was well advanced for age. I believe that one of John Ramsey's employees at Access Graphics killed JonBenet. My justifications follow. It is well–known that the Ramsey's threw vibrant parties for the employees of Access Graphics. Some of these parties took place within the family home. The children partook in these festivities. Thus ,exposing the girl to a potential killer. The killer would have been able to learn the outlay of the family home. The ransom note comes into play here. In my previous complete section, I discussed the fact that there were no reported finger prints located on the ransom note when it was examined. The murderer would have to have been planning on doing said act for quite some time in order to leave no evidence behind.
