24. Negotiation 101
1) Do your homework, know your strengths!
Number one reason for most partnerships is outreach to your members and to your network. Be on
top of your numbers. Compile a data sheet about your outreach and demographics to illustrate the
value of your network for the possible partner. Know the value of what you are bartering for.
Example for a good media data sheet you can boast with on the last page of this presentation
2) Write down an agreement!
Jot down the basic outline / LOI / some kind of paper of the agreement and let everybody sign it or
confirm it via email. This makes it much easier later on to stay on the same page even if key-people
change or in case you want to extend for another year
3) Measure Impact!
Do your members engage with the perks? How many clicks does the newsletter produce for your
partner? How many leads did your partner generate for you?
25. Communication
Communicating
● Initial announcement blogpost , SM , Press Release. Boosts
relevance and spreads the news
● Integrate Information how to use partnerships in
○ your website
○ onboarding emails
○ welcome leaflets
○ member platform
● Use it during personal sales pitch when selling memberships as a
benefit
26. Useful Tools / Examples
● betahaus media sheet
● betahaus story book
● Announcement of Language School Partnership on our Blog
● Excel Sheet to calculate outreach price
