About the Program
Workingtowardthemanagement’svisiontocreateahigh-
ly skilled and competent future management team, Gulf
Insurance launched its ambitious Management Develop-
mentProgram(MDP)in2004,inassociationwithBahrain
Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), Bahrain – a leading
regional insurance training and consulting institution.
After the successful completion of its first three MDP
projects in the years 2006, 2008 & 2009 respectively,
thisisGulfInsurance’sfourthMDPproject.
GIRI firmly believe that there is tremendous
potential amongst Kuwaiti youth who possess
professional education qualifications, attained locally
or overseas, and the appropriate attributes required to
becomefuturemanagersintheinsurancefield.

These candidates are currently employed with either
Gulf Insurance or other insurance companies in Kuwait
holding Senior Positions. Gulf Insurance is committed to
continue with its MDP plans in the future with the Fourth
Program expected to be launched during the Fourth
Quarter of 2015.

Gulf Insurance & Reinsurance (GIRI) wishes to recruit
young Kuwaitisandequipthemwithboththe knowledge
and skills required to become successful managers in
the Insurancefield and namely in the company.
The candidates will follow a strict job rotation in which
they are exposed to all departments of the company.
During this period, they will be asked to submit reports
and will also be expected to be evaluated by their
superiors. Their supervisors will be given some tools of
assessment and guidelines for the competencies that
needtobeevaluated.
GIRI shall arrange further training in order for the
candidates to progress in their formal training and
attaintheirAdvancedInsuranceDiplomawhichwilllater
leadtomoreProfessionaltrainingliketheAssociationof
Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). Moreover, some
more advanced leadership workshops can be arranged
toaddjobmaturityandenhanceskillsforthesupervisory
positionwhichwillbeassignedtothemafterthisperiod.
This ensures successful succession planning for
localization and also contributes to upgrading the skills
of managers in the Kuwaiti insurance field as a whole.
GIRI is targeting young Kuwaiti graduates who have not
yetbeenexposedtotheKuwaitiworkforce.
• A group of fresh graduates will be more homogenous,
making it easier to manage expectations and create
amoreunifiedlearningprocess.
• The age group in discussion will be at the initial learning
curve of work experience, enabling GIRI to achieve more
work loyalty and instill GIRI work values. Getting trained
in this program will also create a sense of appreciation,
commitmentandbelonging.
5. 1.1 Recruitment Process
• Contact universities in Kuwait and request them to
recommend their most outstanding Kuwaiti students
whowishtopursueacareerintheinsuranceindustry.
• Throughadvertisementsinthelocalpress.
• GIRIwillberesponsiblefor theselectionand
short-listing.
Initial Screening of participants will be based
on the following criteria:
• Minimum G.P.A of 3.0 from reputable colleges and
universities.
• Majorconcentrationinengineeringorbusinessrelated
fields.
•Extracurricularactivitiesandsummerinternships
willbeconsidered .
1.2 Assessment
• After shortlisting the CVs, which will be
administered by GIRI after an Open House event, the
shortlisted candidates will be given a brief
description of the entire program. Full details with
expected remuneration will be indicated.
This one-page description will include complete
details which will aid in setting expectations and prepare
potentialcandidatesfortherestofthescreeningprocess
andprogram.
• All assessments will be in English, including a
personality test to measure their potential in leadership
and team communication. After correction and analysis,
candidateswillbeselectedtobeinterviewed.
1.3 Interviewing
This will be a Panel Interview consisting of 3 members
fromGIRI.
• GIRI will conduct a one-day workshop to establish
interview rules and technique, ensuring uniform
decision-makingandvalidityoftherecruitmentprocess.
• Day 2: Interviews will commence. This task will
continue for 3-4 days. Upon completion of the
interviews, there will be a one-day analysis session
scheduled to compare the results of individual
interviewersandfinalizethecandidates.
1.4 Announcement
Thesuccessfulcandidateswillbeinformedoftheir
acceptanceinwriting.Anoverviewandexpectationswill
besetatthisstageandthensigningofthecontractswill
takeplaceatthisevent.

• All selected candidates will be official members of the GIRI team and will receive a monthly salary in addition to
benefits, such as the subscription to employees’ provident fund scheme that qualifies the member for company’s life

• As private sector employees, all candidates are eligible for the ‘financial incentive scheme for private
sector employees’ of the Government of Kuwait. Based on their university degree, marital/family status; they will be
