This document provides an overview and frequently asked questions for a course called Media 1: Survey of Mass Communication. The course introduces concepts of mass media and its impact on individuals and society, covering newspapers, magazines, radio, television, social media, advertising and more. Assessments include quizzes, a group project on media theories, and a midterm and final exam. Students will also present on their favorite media example and post about it on Pinterest. Attendance is mandatory and there are no makeups without approval. The professor and various apps may be used for in-class exercises. Questions can be sent via the Canvas inbox.
