lightingbecomeslighter,yousee redsandblackswhichdemonstrate
passionanda sinisterfeel tothe storyas well.Anotherreasonforthe
darkersettingisto shoe that the protagonistwants theiridentityhidden
yetit alsohelpshismaskto standout (focusison the maincharacter).we

In ‘the Trumanshow’,youcan see a lot of fake (highkey) lighting.Thisisto
emphasise thatthe maincharacterslife isjustfake/stagedandmakes
everythinglooklike it’stoogoodtobe true. However,whenthe camera/
storygoesto the viewer’swe seethe lightingisn’tasgoodandthat it is
more lowkeyincomparisonto Truman’sword(showsusthe difference
betweenreal life andaT.V show/nothingcouldpossiblybe thatperfect).
Thiseffecthasbeenputinplace withlotsof unreal lightingtoenhance how
fantasticbothTruman’slife isandgivesoff a happyvibe/feel (in
comparisonto‘V forVendetta’.
