The technology which is the boon to the mankind has led to many inventions and discoveries,
which is responsible for comfort, safety and secured life etc. To compete with the present fast
trendy life with comforts everybody should make use of technology. If we talk about the
transportation which is quite essential, many of our needs are satisfied but at the same time it is
responsible for many deaths in the form of accidents due to reckless driving and improper roads.
Sometimes even though we are careful up to ourselves there is a chance of accidents. To reduce
accidents, sensors can be introduced in the appropriate way which makes the automobiles
intelligent which in turn provide safety and comfort. Sensor application is used in our concept as
an indicator which indicates the possibility, such as, chance for overtaking and required speed to
overtake, where laser/ RF based distance sensors and microcontroller are employed. The distance
sensor measures the (i) distance between our vehicle and vehicle which should be overtake
(ii) distance between our vehicle and upcoming vehicle, and this value is sent to microcontroller
where the comparison (speed of our vehicle, speed of the vehicle which should be overtake and
speed of upcoming vehicle) takes place such that based on our vehicle’s speed and dimension
indicator displays the required speed to overtake the vehicle. Hence the driver in the vehicle can
follow according to the indication, therefore accidents caused due to improper overtake can be
controlled.
