2. Back ground of CDS
Child Development Society Nepal (CDS Nepal), a
joint network of 4 CBOs (Rauta, Bhalayadad, Jalpa
and Pokari local youth group), which is a non
governmental, non profit making, community and
member based organization has been working in
Udayapur district to promote the child right since
1998, from established as Ilaka CD NGO CC in
1997 (2055 BS). Based on member organization,
directly connected to community, stakeholders
and target group managed by local youths which
have direct representation of community people
in its governance.

12. Strength of organization
• Staffs who are working since 2000 till now as
child right promoter and social mobilizer in
education field and child right with long
experience, staffs are not turnover expect
finance.
• Staff are qualified in their field and most of all
bachelor degree in education background.
• Organization has its policy as finance, human
resource and up date constitution.

• Built up the capacity of staffs and board for
organization development and sustainability
and effective implementing of program at
through the Exposure visit and training.
• Up date and review organization policy,
procedure, and constitution at timely.

• Function and mobilize the mechanism of
organization for ensure the transparency and
effective implementing
• CDS Nepal managed staffs annual performance
review of 2011 and it has managed initiative
support for 5 high rank staffs.
• SC coach to board and senior staffs organization
system and policy for well management through
the review and update
16. Major activity of OD
1. CDS has formed and mobilized Internal audit
committee, Physical verification committee,
Procurement committee, resource mobilization
committee and women sub-committee for follow
up organizational policies to complete process of
purchasing for materials and goods. There are 3
members with inclusive participation. Women sub-
committee will be ensuring of women participation
at all level and expected to advocate for capacity
building of women members.

to ensure quality of goods materials .
17. Major activity of OD
• With stakeholder to maintain the
transparency and responsibility, conducted
the organization social audit with political
party, student, teacher union, journalist ,
DDC, NGO federation and FN are involved (44
person)
18. Changes and benefit
• Capacity building of Board members and staffs in
organization for sustainability and effectiveness of program
(SOS for quality, Samata for local resource, Namasaling
from OD and English based schools were observed by board
members and staffs (25 person)
• updated and implement policy with support of SC staffs
have done regular coaching to board members and senior
staffs for strengthened system .
• All lesson learned and feed backed points are implementing
and incorporating in plan 2013.
• Timely complete the program and achieved the result of
the project.
