FIREBRIGADE
In some countries daylight fluorescent paints are not generally allowed. Please
see the relevant laws!
Substrate preparation / putty
The entire substrate has to be cleaned with Mipa Silikonentferner (anti-silicon cleaner)
before each operation.
Derust damaged parts down to bare metal and sand with P 80 / 150 dry grade paper.
Filling putty : Mipa P 99 Multi Star PE-Autospachtel or
Mipa PX 9
Wait till dry then sand with P 80 machine dry grade paper (Rutscher or Exzenter).
Fine putty : Mipa P 85 PE-Feinspachtel hochweiß
After drying sand with P 80 / 150 dry grade paper. Sand the entire area with sandpaper
P 360 / 400 till a mat surface is obtained.
Adhesion promoter / Anti-corrosive protection / Insulation
Prime the bare metal or the filled areas by using either:
Mipa Rapidprimer or Mipa Rapidfiller or Mipa EP-Grundierfiller or
Mipa 2K-Acrylgrund.
Wait till dry than sand either with P 320 dry grade paper or with P 800 wet grade paper.
Wet-on-wet application is also recommended.

Filler
The innovative special optical effect of the daylight fluorescent paints develop the best
colour brilliant features when applied on a pure white undercoat:
Mipa 4+1 Acrylfiller HS white or Mipa 2K-HS-Tintfiller F43T white. Dry than sand
with P 400 (dry) or with P 800 (wet). Wet-on-wet application is also recommended.
Top coat
Mipa Neon 2-Schicht-Tagesleuchtfarbe (a noticeable improvement of the UV-stability
and better resistance are quoted by adding 10 % hardener Mipa 2K-MS-Härter to the
Neon 2-coat base paint) has to be applied with a minimum dry coat thickness of 100
µm (= 4 - 6 spraying operations) in order to avoid early fading. Clearover wet-on-wet
after approx. 15 minutes (base coat goes mat) with Mipa 2K-clearcoat for protection
against pigment-destroying UV-light:
Mipa 2K-HS-Klarlack C 420 (to VOC regulations) or
Mipa 2K-HS-Klarlack C 85 (conventional)

Remarks :
The best colour effects are developped when applied on a white undercoat. No use of thinner
to apply by brush. At least 4 spraying operations (for RAL 3024: 5 spraying operations) are
recommended. To improve the stability mix 10 : 1 Mipa Neon with Mipa 2K-Härter (thinn this
mixture 2 : 1 with Mipa BC-Verdünnung or Mipa 2K-Verdünnung kurz). When 2K-Härter is
used for further processing, consider a pot life of about 1 - 2 days.
Not suitable to be used as aerosol.
Storage : at least 3 years, if stored in tightly closed original containers.
