A Thought
John the Baptist is arrested in this weekend’s Gospel and will be put to death for his
faith. Today throughout the world Christians are constantly persecuted and killed
because of their belief in Jesus. It is not something of the past, but the ever present
reality of the modern world. Proclaiming Jesus is never easy, living the message by
word and example is a challenge in our world, even our country. This weekend let us
remember persecuted Christians through our world and let us never as followers of
Jesus apologise for his message and teachings.
