Desenvolvimento tem por objetivos, contribuir para a
renovação conceitual e instrumental da ação pública;
para o desenvolvimento, no contexto da
transformação do papel do Estado e de suas políticas,

atores sociais e de empresas; capacitar seus
participantes para a identificação de prioridades,
lacunas e possibilidades de ação, no campo das

• To contribute to the renewal, conceptually and
practically, of public action oriented toward
development.

Dynamics
This research area’s goals include:
• Linking new technological trajectories with institutional change and
public policies;
• Knowledge governance: policies and regulation for the production ,
circulation, utilization, and protection of knowledge assets.
• Understanding the relationship between catching-up and intellectual
property;
• Analyzing the policies, institutions, and conflicts of interest of the
National Program for the Production and Use of Biodiesel.

• MINDS was founded nine years ago as a group of
like-minded academics and intellectuals
concerned with development strategies.
• The group’s research was founded on an
interdisciplinary approach, where historical
analysis, economic sociology, institutional,
evolutionary where building blocks.

• MINDS has adopted, in the past three
years, the think tank model, committing
itself to strategic thinking and capacity
building.
• Currently, it’s reshaping itself with an
emphasis on global governance issues and
Brazil’s emergence as a “global player”.

professionals and scholars;
• nine years of rigorous academic output and
successful meetings,
• a host of capacity building initiatives;

and institutes embedded in leading
Brazilian universities.
