2. • Madeira Archipelago is

5. • An elementary and secondary school with 1300
students, of whom more than 150 have special needs
and about 60 students are from different nationalities.
6. • Our school is composed by 180 teachers and 67 staff
members.
• Our school develops activities not only for students,
but also for teachers and staff.
7. • The number of foreign students has been increasing all
over the years. At the moment, there are about 60
students from a huge variety of countries.
• We gladly accept those students. We do lots of
inclusion activities and the students feel very welcome
in our school.
8. • This year the school has enrolled 60 foreign students of
various nationalities:

9. • Our school has a team of 5 teachers responsible for the
integration and for the school success of these students
• In addition to the subject PLNM (for foreign students), the
students have support/assistance in the classes and an
individual support in the subjects of English, French,
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• The success rate is around 100% in the grades of
students with PLNM.
10. • In our island, we have various Support Center
for the Integration of Migrants.

11. • These Centers help the immigrant population of the area
where they are located, regardless of their nationality,
religion or ethnicity. It is a free service.
12. • The Local Support Center for the Integration of Migrants in
Madeira works with the aim of providing immigrants with answers
regarding the reception, integration and resolution of their
problems, giving continuity to the work that has been long done
in this area.
13. • The purpose of the Cabinet is to "outline and implement a
strategy through all the services of the regional public
administration, so as to constitute a privileged channel of
communication between those services and all Madeira's
emigrants, and their families, returned from that country".
• This decision came after a large increase in the number
of Luso-Venezuelans returning to Madeira.
14. • PAR plays an important role in supporting and welcoming
displaced refugees from Venezuela.
• This refugee support platform aims to support citizens
who are involved in forced migration and was honored in
the European Parliament's 'European Citizen's Awards
2017'.
15. • Funchal Municipal Council (CMF) has an office to support
all those returning from Venezuela, both in socio-affective
and economic terms.
• VENEXOS - an association of support for Venezuelan
emigrants in Portugal, which carries out various activities
with the purpose of collecting medicines and raising funds
to send to the community in Venezuela.
16. • VENECOM - an Association of the Community of
Venezuelan Immigrants in Madeira, which seeks to
contribute to the integration of Venezuelan community in
society, by defending and promoting the rights and
interests of Venezuelan immigrants and their
descendants and by respecting them in order to allow
their inclusion in society.
19. "Garotos do Calhau" is the designation by which the young
people, who used to be in the beaches of Madeira, were
once known, showing the tourists the art of diving
20. Nini Andrade Silva, used her own name to designate the
institution and made it a symbol of art, culture, beauty
and generosity.
21. • It is a private non-profit social welfare institution, founded in
March 2003.
• It was born from the need to respond to the problematic
situations underlying the existence of vulnerable social groups
and it intends to implement Intergenerational Social
Intervention Projects in the community.
22. In order to promote these projects, the Garota do Calhau has
promoted six community centers in the Municipality of
Funchal.

alone, 250 children and 250 elder
people;

• They intend to take 300 children out
of the streets (fun activities);

of children of under privileged families.
