  • With all those renewable energy that was mentioned, wind energy is the cleanest and cheapest. It is clean in a sense that is doesn't require you to burn it that might pollute air or water and this is just for free. No cost on your bill. Wind turbines are widely used in different countries like US, India, Germany, Spain, Denmark etc...The efficiency of wind turbines were already tested that influenced many countries that I have mentioned.

Renewable Energy Definiton <ul><li>Renewable energy is energy provenient from natural resources which can be reused on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate. </li></ul><ul><li>These energy resources are “unlimited”, and they are utilized in various ways that are not dangerous to the environment, comparing to the non-renewable energies. </li></ul><ul><li>So Renewable Energies are the best alternative energies so far discovered. </li></ul>

  4. 4. Solar Energy <ul><li>Solar energy is the energy derived from the sun through the form of solar radiation. Solar powered electrical generation relies on photovoltaic panels and heat engines. </li></ul><ul><li>Solar technologies are broadly characterized, depending on the way they capture, convert and distribute solar energy: </li></ul><ul><li>- Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors to harness the energy. </li></ul><ul><li>- Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air. </li></ul>

Wind Power <ul><li>Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into direct current electricity , which can be obtained using wind turbines for example, wind mills can be utilized for mechanical power, wind pumps for pumping water or drainage, or sails to propel ships. </li></ul><ul><li>Several countries have achieved relatively high levels of wind power penetration (with large governmental subsidies), such as 19% of stationary electricity production in Denmark, 13% in Spain and Portugal , and 7% in Germany and the Republic of Ireland in 2008. </li></ul>

Biomass <ul><li>Biomass , is biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms. </li></ul><ul><li>Biomass is usually plant matter grown to generate electricity or produce heat. In this sense, living biomass can also be included, as plants can also generate electricity while still alive. </li></ul><ul><li>The most conventional way on how biomass is used however, still relies on direct incineration. </li></ul>

  15. 15. Geothermal Energy <ul><li>Geothermal power is the power extracted from heat stored in the earth itself. This geothermal energy originates from the original formation of the planet, from radioactive decay of minerals, and from solar energy absorbed at the surface. </li></ul>

  17. 17. Growth of renewables <ul><li>From the end of 2004 to the end of 2008, solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity increased sixfold to more than 16 GW, wind power capacity increased 250 percent to 121 GW, and total power capacity from new renewables increased 75 percent to 280 GW. </li></ul>
