This document summarizes special types of linear systems. It discusses investigating different types of linear systems using a graphing calculator activity. There are three different solutions to linear systems: 1) lines intersect with one solution, 2) lines are parallel and have no solution (inconsistent system), and 3) lines coincide with infinitely many solutions (consistent dependent system). Students are assigned problems 1 through 12 on page 463 to practice determining the different types of solutions to linear systems.
