2. Terri Bauer
Terri Bauer is a benevolent, strong, and
intelligent individual. She is a licensed social
worker and an psychotherapist. She has been
working with children with sexual behavior
problems for more than 15 years. She has
played an instrumental role in the
development of inpatient and outpatient
programs of Collin and Grayson Counties in
Texas.
3. Terri Bauer
She is currently working as the director of the
CSI program in Collin County. This program
began in 2000, and its main target is to help
out kids and youth who have sexual behavior
problems. Terri realized that while there are
many programs that help victims of domestic
abuse and sexual crimes, there is not much
being done for the juvenile offenders.
4. Terri Bauer
Eventually, what the program seeks to achieve is
to normalize these children and help them
reintegrate back into society so that they can
lead normal lives. Owing to its large success,
the CSI program has become one of the most
respected programs in the nation. While it is
difficult to point out the exact reasons that a
youth may commit a sexual crime, taking a
multipronged approach towards the treatment
of the offenders can prove to be immensely
beneficial.
5. Terri Bauer
The treatment process is very comprehensive,
and requires complete dedication from the
family. The juveniles are admitted to a post
adjudication facility, where they will remain
for a period of up to a year. Here they are
taught new coping skills, relapse prevention,
victim empathy, healthy social skills and
healthy sexual relationships. Being in an
environment that houses other juveniles just
like themselves helps them to learn and grow
together. The parents are also taught certain
ways of supervision and monitoring their
children so they can better pick up on any red
flags in the behavior of their children.

Terri Bauer was appointed to the Council
on Sex Offender Treatment by Governor
Perry in January of 2012.
