Brandon Howard worked on building a desk for his senior project from November 20th to March 11th. He met with his facilitator to plan the project and learn woodworking skills. On February 25th, he started planning the desk by selecting materials and using equipment to make cuts. On subsequent dates, he gathered materials, worked on cuts, staining, and assembly. By March 11th, he had finished building a computer desk and completed his senior project.

Commentary:
I met with my project facilitator,
November 20th Randy Whaley, to set up a work
schedule to start and finish my senior
project.
February 25th
I learned how to use all of the
necessary equipment and machines
used for woodworking. Then after
learning about all of the equipment I
started to plan out all of the necessary
info for making a desk. This would be
the type of wood I wanted, how big it
should be, what kind of desk, and how
I want to do it.

2. I met with my facilitator to go to the
February 26th store and buy the materials needed for
my project.
On this day I worked on making all
February 31st the cut ups on my cut list. I used four
or five different machines that I
learned to use from my last visit. After
all the cut ups were made I put all of
the wood up in an orderly fashion.
March 10th I stained all of the wood separately
before I put it all together to make it
easier. Then after I finished putting on
the stain that I wanted I put them all
up to dry. I put on a couple of coats.
March 11th I gathered up all the materials from the
shop and took them all home. I
assembled the desk to complete my
senior project. I ended up with a nice
computer desk.
