Define the terminology (10 words) common to the immune system and the disorders of the system. Identify and discuss the cells and tissue of the immune system. Identify the important signs and symptoms associated with each type of Hypersensitivity reaction immune system disorders. Describe the common diagnostics used to determine type or cause of an autoimmune system disorder. Identify 3 types of disorders caused by defiency of the immune system. Solution Definations- 1. Immune system - system of body which protect body from external environment is called as immune system. External environment include pathogen and various antigens. It is classified into humoral immunity and cell mediated immunity. 2. Pathogen -pathogens are infectious agent responsible for disease. 3. Phagocytosis- The process by which cell engulf external particulate and kill them. 4. Antigen - foreign particle that mimic immune responce. 5. Antibody- these are the part of immune system which recognises antigen and eliminate them. Cells and tissues of immune system 1. Lymph nodes- Small, bean shaped part of lymphatic system, main function is to produce and distribute cells against disease and infection. 2. Spleen-largest part of lumphatic system and contain WBC. 3. Bone marrow - yellow tissue which is middle part of bone and responsible for production of WBC. 4. Lymphocytes - largely take part in fight against infection and are of 2 type B cells and T cells. 5. Thymus - part of system where maturation of T cell take place. 6. Leucocytes - Main part for killing of infectious agent also called as WBC. Sign and symptom of hypersensitivity reaction Headache, dizziness, rashes, red spot all over body, palpitation, difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness may cause death also, Diarrhoea and cough. Common diagnostics used to cure disorder Antibody test- used to identify specific antibody in infection. CBC - complete blood count used to identify RBC and WBC because no. may vary in infection. C reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate used to identify indication of infection and measure it. Disorder HIV, SCID and bruton\'s disease.
