The Shining – 1980
The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film
produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick (who also
directed ‘A Clockwork Orange’. It stars Jack Nicholson ,
Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd and Scatman Crothers.
The film is about a family that are ‘house sitting’ an
secluded hotel where an evil presence influences the
father into violence and his son sees horrifying
forebodings from the past and future.

Orphan is an American psychological horror film
directed by Jaume Collect-Serra. Starring Vera-
Fermiga, Peter Sarsgaard and Isabelle Fuhrman.
The film is about a husband and wife adopting a
mysterious 9-year-old girl.

Peircea. Starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianna Moore.
The film is the third adaption from Stephen Kings 1974 novel and is a
classic horror tale about a shy girl bullied by her peers and wrapped
in cotton wool by her religious mother.

Darren Aronofsky and stars Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, and
Mila Kunis.
The film is about a ballet dancer who wins the lead in “Swan Lake”
but loses her mind and slowly becomes more like the Black Swan.

Period of equilibrium starts at the beginning of the
trailer when the establishing shot of the car
driving through a rural area.
Then, there is a moment of disequilibrium is
shown when the evil presence influences the
husband to become violent.
Then there is a period of disequilibrium when
the son starts to be influenced by the evil
spirits.
