Bill of Rights Project Directions
As a group, your job is to demonstrate understanding of the Bill of Rights through explanations
and examples. You may choose any medium that is first approved by Mrs. B., such as a comic
strip, booklet, skit, power point, 3-D, Newspaper, Magazine, Newscast, etc.
Rules:
1. You have to divide the work evenly and log your accomplishments each day.
2. You have to identify each amendment with the correct number and "title".
3. You have to explain IN YOUR OWN WORDS all the parts of EACH amendment. (Be careful!
Some amendments have several parts!)
4. You need to explain WHY each amendment is IMPORTANT, either to the Founding Fathers or
today's citizens.
5. You need to provide an EXAMPLE of someone practicing (either from history or your
imagination) the amendment and an explanation if your example is an illustration.
6. You need to quote the amendment to provide evidence for your work and conclusions.
One idea: you could have a booklet of 10 pages, with an amendment on each page - along with
rules 2-6 on each page for each amendment.
You will be graded on:
accuracy
completeness/thoroughness
presentation
time on task/group time
30 points total
In addition, team Georgia teachers will be judging the creativity and presentation of each team
that demonstrates proficiency.
1st prize = free lunch from a "restaurant" of your choice for the team, one free homework pass
for each team member, and 8 points extra credit for each team member.
2nd prize = free snack bag, one free homework pass, and 5 points extra credit.
3rd prize = candy, one free homework pass, and 3 points extra credit.
