4. THE ASSIGNMENT
• In the Department of Journalism and Creative Media, EVERY STUDENT is required to
maintain a digital portfolio that reflect your work throughout the news media major. It is
strongly encouraged, if one does not already have such a page, that student use
an online channel such as Wix or Weebly to create one. NOTE: The Career Center has a
license for Portfolium, a free network of users who would like to highlight their skills with
actual work and projects, and of employers seeking candidates for posted jobs and
internships.
• The Wix or Weebly or Portfolium templates can easily be modified to include the following
suggested elements of an online portfolio:
• ABOUT ME
• PICTURE
• RESUME (including a link to download the resume)
• LINKS TO PROJECTS FROM JOURNALISM/NEWS MEDIA classes.
• REQUIRED: AT LEAST ONE SAMPLE OF WORK FROM JCM 331 PROJECTS (VO, VOSOT, or PACKAGE)
• SCRIPT FOR THE WORK SAMPLE
• CONTACT INFORMATION
• SOMETHING EXTRA THAT SPEAKS TO WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON
•
By NO LATER THAN Friday, December 7, 2018 at 8 a.m., each student should submit a link to
his/her UPDATED portfolio showing work sample from JCM 331.
