3. TECHNOLOGY
• The term ‘Technology” is wide and everyone has their own way of
understanding the meaning of technology.
• We use technology to accomplish various tasks in our daily lives, in brief; we
can describe technology as products. We use technology to extend our
abilities.
• we use technology at work, we use it to, we use technology for
communication, transportation, learning, manufacturing, securing data, and
so much more.
• technology can sometimes enable us to be in two places at once.
4. WHAT LIFE BALANCE NOT
IS?
• A lot of people think that life
balance is some state of mind and
body where everything just feels,
looks, and seems perfect and
stable. Is it possible in reality?
Absolutely, not.
• life balance will vary over time,
often on a daily basis. The right
balance for you today will probably
be different for you tomorrow.
• The best life balance is different for
each of us because we all have
different priorities and different
lives.
5. SO WHAT IS LIFE BALANCE?
• LIFE BALANCE IS:
• A journey – every day you must make steps to stay in balance. Every day
something will try to push you out of balance (and most of the time this
“something” will succeed) but every time you will be able to bounce back to
your balance.
• Attitude – living a balanced life means having a balanced mindset. You can’t
force yourself to make choices that are not natural to you.
6. LIFE BALANCE IS…
• Focus – every area of your life (family, health, work,
finances, passions, social life and spirituality)
requires different amounts of your time and
attention at different points of your life.
• Life balance is focus on the most important things
in life and not being afraid to let go of less
important tasks, projects and people.
• In short
• Life balance is taking care of body without
forgetting the soul.
7. NOW, WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY AND LIFE
BALANCE?
AT ONCE.
Never get so busy making a living, That never make a life.
8. TECHNOLOGY AND LIFE BALANCE
• Without the appropriate boundaries, we
can see technology slowly hurting our
families.
• If technology is well applied, it can benefit
humans, but if it is wrongly applied, it can
cause harm to human beings.
• There is no doubt that technology has
changed the way we work and provides
challenges for life balance.
• Wasn't technology supposed to make our
life easier, and give us more time for our
personal lives?
9. LET’S DEFINE TECHNOLOGY AND LIFE
BALANCE
• Technology-Life balance is a
concept including prioritizing
between “Technology”
(Mobile, Computer,
internet…) and “lifestyle”
(Health, pleasure, family and
spiritual development).
10. THERE ARE TWO MAIN TYPES OF
TECHNOLOGY USERS:
TECHNOLOGY SLAVES
• They are people with high
expectations and workloads
who need to work long hours
and be accessible 24/7 to
advance in their organization
(addicted to work).
11. TECHNOLOGY MASTERS
• They are moderate users of
technology who use it as a
tool for both personal and
work life and thereby
increase their ability to
manage their time and
increase control of their lives.
12. POSITIVE IMPACT
• There are very few parts of life that
remain untouched by technology in one
way or another. our lives are greatly
improved because of it.
• We are a key point in time in making sure
technology does not become our master
and we should not be its slave, that is
why life balance is very important in
using technology.
• Say NO, and take control of technology.
13. IS TECHNOLOGY LEAD US TO UNBALANCED
LIFE?
• having the technology allow you
to work flexibly doesn't
necessarily reduce stress levels.
In fact, 70% of respondents to a
recent Accenture survey said
technology caused work to
creep into their personal lives.
• I could be wrong, but one of the
major reasons we may be sliding
into an unbalanced life is, in
fact, technology.
• While technology has allowed us
to be more connected and given
us the ability to reach out for
information, it has also made it
easier for our work lives to
reach out to us. Mobile devices
are key here.
14. TECHNOLOGY MUST
NOT BE EVERY TIME
• It's complicated, of course, but
start by activating that little
switch on your smartphone that
turns off your email. I know it's
tough to do, but at least turn it
off when you are with your
family and friends, especially at
meals. Take a look around the
next time you are in a restaurant
and notice how many people are
staring at their phones instead
of connecting with the person
seated directly across the table.
15. HERE ARE FEW STEPS TO STAY BALANCED:
• 1. Turn off your email
If you have your smart phone connected to your work email, turn off
your work email during home hours.
• 2. Leave your computer at work
Don’t bring your laptop home.
• 4. Don’t use/carry your phone everywhere
• Set your phone down, turn the ringer up, and be free from
technology for company time.
16. TECHNOLOGY’S IMPACT ON LIFE BALANCE
• We’re always accessible
With an entire suite of
communication tools found
on a single, pocket-sized
device, it’s easier than ever to
get in touch with just about
anyone these days, no matter
where in the world they may
be.
• We’re becoming more
efficient
Advances in technology are
also making the workplace
more efficient. From time-
saving apps to digital storage
option make better use of
their time
