Difference between equity and equality,basic points

Topic –Equity and Equality in relation with caste, class ,religion,
ethnicity, disability and religion

2. Equality:-
• The equality or state of being equal and
having the same rights, social status.
Equality aims to ensure that everyone
gets the same things in order to enjoy
full lives.
• Equality is ensuring individuals or
groups of individuals are not treated
differently or less favorably on the basis
of age, gender,race,religion,disability.

3. Equity:-
• Equity implies giving a much advantage,
consideration, or latitude to one party what
he need actually. Along with economy,
effectiveness ,and efficiency ,equity is
essential for ensuring that extent and costs
of funds, goods and services are fairly
divided among their recipients. it involves
trying to understand and give people what
they need actually.

5. • Equality is about sameness. It promotes
fairness and justice by giving everyone the
same thing. But it can only work if everyone
starts from the same place.
• Equity is about fairness. It is about making
sure people get acess to the some
opportunities. Sometimes our diffferences or
history can create barriers to participation, so
we must ensure equity before we can enjoy
equality.
