Venue• WCIT 2016 will be held in Brasília – Brazil’s Federal Capital • Inaugurated 1961, as a planned city • 2,8 million people • Highest per capita income and education levels in the country• Venue – Ulisses Guimarães Convention Center • Capacity for 9000 people, 54000 sqm building • Main auditoriums capacity at 2800 seats • Gaining two additional blocks until 2014 – National Stadium • Rebuilt from scratch, opening 2013 – Located one in front of the other, across the monumental axis • Will be connected

Preparation & Marketing • The two year period from now until WCIT 2014 will be used for planning, and preparation of all marketing activities • We plan to launch registrations during the closing ceremony at WCIT 2014 – Extra special ‘early bird’ registration during the first week after WCIT 2014

Assespro’s commitmentto WITSA  It is not just about WCIT 2016!  We have been working step-by-step  BOD meeting Jun, 2012 was held in Brasília, Brasil  Assespro is part of new WITSA’s BOD  GPATS 2013 will be in Brasil  Nov 13-14, 2013 in São Paulo  Assespro’s board has been systematically promoting WITSA at all international activities where Brazil takes part, in order to help at:  Expanding WITSA’s membership  Strengthening WITSA’s political influence

Brazilian Governmenteffective commitment• Federal Government – Communications Ministry • Paid for WCIT 2012 sponsorship – National Tourism Board • Paid for Brazilian Reception during WITSA BOD meeting Montreal • Provided editing and printing for the Brazilian bid book• Government of the Federal District – Equivalent in status to a State – Governor’s personal commitment • Received Secretary General in March, 2012 and signed letter of commitment – Science & Technology Secretary • Will pay WITSA’s whole licensing fee at once during 2013 – Tourism Secretary • Responsible for operation of Brazilian Reception during WITSA BOD – Publicity Secretary • Developed WCIT 2016 logo Brasilia’s Digital Tower

It’s not a bidjust for one country  Assespro’s international commitment is not restricted to work as a single country:  Brazil currently leads ALETI  Ibero-american Federation of IT Associations (including 19 countries: Spain, Portugal, Brazil, plus all Spanish-speaking Latin American countries - except Cuba and Nicaragua)  All of them have signed support letter  Inclusive leadership style  Everybody involved should benefit  New WITSA BOD composition reflects our region’s organizational strengths
