The Senior Project is subject to the plagiarism policies set forth by the district and Creekview High
School.
1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
The overall topic for my senior project is taking family pictures. Learning how to Edit these
photos and put them on a CD.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I am very interested in photography. I am strongly passionate about taking pictures.
I bought a nice Nikon camera and books on “Tips for photographers” over a year ago. I’ve
only had some experience with taking pictures mainly for fun as an interest.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
The career I will be connecting to this project is photography.
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on
the back of this sheet if necessary.
I am going to make portfolio of the photos I take of this family and learn how to edit these
pictures. Learning step by step how to Edit, organize and then move them onto a cd.
1) Plan a day to meet with this family: Place to take pictures, colors that work, and posed
photo ideas.
2) Take raw pictures of this family. I will need more than one day to get different shots.
3) Plan a day to get together with my Facilitator and just observe her editing her photos and
how to use this editing program.
4) Go home and deal with the editing program. Photography is all about experiences.
5) Meet again with my facilitator asks any questions about the program or any difficulties I ran
into.
6) When complete with taking the photos of this family, I will upload them to the editing
program and start editing hands on.
7) I will focus on different editing parts one at a time: lighting, brightness, contrast ect.
8) When I am done learning step by step how to edit these photos, I will do one last photo
shoot of another family and edit them on my own.
9) I will make an information sheet on the side of what the terms mean and when to use them.
10) Then, finally, I will set up all my steps and pictures in a portfolio.
2. 5) How is this project a “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
This is a learning stretch for me because I have never looked at or used an editing program for
my pictures. I am not “computer savvy at all” and I tend to get frustrated with computers.
This is something that will take time to learn all the terms and what they mean; and When and
where to use them. Then comes the process or knowing how to work with the different
balances.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?
$0- 80 depending on if I buy my own editing software for my computer and which one. There
are different price ranges.
7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?
Jessica smith, she took my senior pictures.
8) What is this person’s expertise in this field?
She is a professional photographer. She does it as a hobby. She does not have a business but
friends and families will ask her to take wedding, family and school pictures. She actually
took my senior pictures.
