OUR VISIT TO SIMLA HYUNDAI
This visit at Simla Hyundai was basically organized to clear the
basic concept of automobiles engines, parts, tools, etc. The
supervisor was guiding us with the servicing techniques and
equipments used for servicing.
At first we entered the conference room and we were
introduced with the basics of what were we going to go
through in service centre.
Later on we were introduced with the service procedure of
service centre.

Hence, the service procedure is as follows:
PDI system (PRE‐ Delivery inspection system): This system
includes checking/ inspecting the entire car with its interior
and exterior before servicing it in presence of customer.
PDI Form: this form is to be filed during servicing.
PDI Form retention: the form has to be referred before
servicing the car. Each and every fault has to be properly
inspected that are mentioned in the form.
Ideal PDI system: this system is followed for easy work.
QUALITY CONTROL:
This is the most important part of service that should be
kept in mind. In Simla motors this thing is very well
organized.
THINGS INCLUDED IN QUALITY CONTROL:
Genuine parts of Hyundai must be used.
Oil that is mentioned in the car manual should be filled
into the oil tank.
Each and every part should be serviced properly and
according to proper method.

PROCEDURE OF PRE‐DELIVERY INSPECTION SYSTEM
IN HYUNDAI:
This i20 elite is to be serviced.
PDI ADVISOR:
The duty of PDI advisor is to advice the customer
for each and every part that needs to be serviced.

JOB CARD:
The PDI advisor prepares a job card and it includes the
details of parts that are to be repair, replaced or
serviced.
PDI TECHNICIAN:
The PDI technician studies the job card and according to it he
repairs or services the vehicle.

SERVICING & WASHING:
After completing the servicing, it is sent to the oiling
department. The parts are lubricated properly. Then the car is
sent in the washing area for washing.
SETTING UP CLEAN DELIVERY AREA:
The car is checked by taking a test drive whether it is
functioning properly.

KEEPING THE VEHICLE READY TO DELIVER:
After the vehicles test drive is done the vehicle is parked
properly and it is ready to deliver.
ROLE OF SERVICE MANAGER:
Implement the pre‐delivery inspection.
Co‐ordinate PDI requirement.
Manage the sales department.
Implement the storage maintenance.
Setting up scheduling system in PDI delivery.
NOTE: When any car comes for inspection or repairing its
engine number should be noted.

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE PDI SERVICE:
Luggage, stock and other accessories are to be checked
and kept in storage department.
Check the interior and exterior if any stickers are
applied.
Tire’s air pressure should be checked.
The exterior of car should be checked in presence of
customer. If any dent is present then it should be
immediately shown to the customer.
Additional seat cover, steering wheel cover, cigarette
lighters, CD’s , car fresheners, window covers, water
bottles, etc. should be checked. If these things are
present in the car then they should be handed over to
the storage department.
STORAGE DEPARTMENT:
This department keeps the record of the left over things in
car by customers. After the service is over these things are
handed over to the customers.

light checking, horn checking, etc.

Brake fluid checking.

Air pressure in tires.

AC filters cleaning.
Gas level of AC.
Brake, clutch, accelerator, play checking, etc.
PAID SERVICE:
All minor diagnosis and major diagnosis.
Replacement of engine oil, brake oil, etc.
