5. Introduction
Smart Bin provides an IoT based solution to garbage
collection. It is a technology in which works
automatically and consists of sensors and many
other more.
It is a decent technology to make your home clean
and attractive. There will be no contact between
smartbin and Person.
7. The smart bin which contains Arduino, is equipped
with sensors to identify objects when it is closer to
bin. A signal is transmitted to a servo motor, which
unhinges the lid. The motor is programmed to shut
down the lid after a certain period of time.
10. Dustbin layer : The layer consists of internet and Wi-Fi
enabled dustbins.
Server layer : Server collects the fill up status and location
of dustbins. It processes the client query and it respond to
the nearest location.
Client layer : Client request for the nearest location of the
IT enabled dustbin to the server using mobile app designed
for this purpose.

18. Implementation
Fixed Scheduling : Collection Process takes place one
after fixed interval.
Priority Scheduling : The garbage wastes are
collected accordingly in the decreasing order.
Average Threshold Scheduling : On finding the
average of all fill up status of all dustbins, Then if
average is greater then some threshold like 70% then
schedule the collection process.

Keep the environment clean and fresh.

Reduces number of trucks and save fuel.
21. Disadvantages
Power generation by solar panel is dependent on
weather condition.
Garbage segregation is difficult.
The process is not always cost-effective.
Smart Bin contains electrical wires, when liquid
garbage is thrown ,it may lead to short circuit.
The practices are not uniformly.
22. Future Scope
Two bins can be placed to collect wet and dry
waste separately.
Wet waste can be decomposed and used for
making biogas.
It can be made long-lasting, by making it compact
and cost effective.
23. Conclusion
This system helps local municipal administration in
waste management system for monitoring of
domestic wastage at proper time.
The project is an attempt to improve current waste
collection system in India for the “Clean India
Mission”.
