DISTRIBUTION OF ACTIVE VOLCANOES, EARTHQUAKE (1).pptx
1. MODULE 1: PLATE TECTONIC
PREPARED BY: APLE M. RIGOR-TEACHER III
2. OBJECTIVE
•Describe the distribution of active volcanoes,
earthquake, epicenters, and major mountain belts.
•Determine the scientific basis for dividing the
Lithospheric plates.
3. UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES
LITHOSPHERE
is made up of Earth's outermost layer, the
crust, and the uppermost portion of the
mantle.
ASTHENOSPHERE
is the upper portion of Earth's mantle
(which is also the middle layer of Earth)
4. ACTIVITY 2. LET’S MARK THE
BOUNDARIES
•Materials:
•Figure 5: Map of earthquake distribution
•Figure 6: Map of active volcanoes of the world
•Figure 7: Mountain ranges of the world
•2 pieces plastic sheet used for book cover, same size
as a book page
•marking pens (two different colors)
12. LETS THINK AND SHARE!
•How do the location of
volcanoes related to the
movement of earths plate?
13. LETS THINK AND SHARE!
•Do you agree with how the
scientist divides the
lithospheric plate? WHY?
14. LETS APPLY THE LEARNING!
•Knowing that Earth’s surface
is continuously moving, it is
very important to be
prepared at all times.
•How can we be prepared
with this phenomena?
•Is engagement with
Earthquake drills important
why?
