Polynesia has a population of 271,000 people which is smaller than the population across the island group of Orkney. While Polynesia is geographically smaller than Orkney, measuring 37.41 miles long compared to Orkney's 57.81 miles, the climate is much hotter with average temperatures in January and February of 27°C, unlike cooler Orkney. The two main religions in Polynesia are Christianity, accounting for 54% of the population, and Roman Catholicism at 30%.
