will enforce essential laboratory skills and techniques in areas such as Genetics,
Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Chemistry among other sciences.
Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (PHAGES)
sponsored by Howard Hughes Medical Institute Program (University of Puerto
Rico): 2012 As a team we did research with Mycobacteriophage found in
different samples of soil collected within the Island of Puerto Rico. By isolating
its DNA we were able to sequence it and study further, always looking out to
obtain some benefit and apply it to therapies related to health care. We applied
Bioinformatics techniques in the investigation.
