2. What is propaganda?
Propaganda: The spreading of ideas,
information, or rumor for the purpose of helping
or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person.
Which means that propaganda is any ideas,
opinions, or beliefs that are spread on purpose.
3.
4. Propaganda Vs Publicity
Publicity is when something is being sold. It has
an economic purpose.
Propaganda is when you are trying to give
ideas, opinions, and beliefs.
5.
6. Propaganda Techniques in Brave New
World
In Brave new world the metaphor of SOMA is
the way of propaganda because supposedly it
makes them believe they are happy and
“everything is awesome”. The use of SOMA,
which brainwashes, shows the idea that
propaganda is made for making you believe
something that can be true or not.
7. In Chapter 2 we find an interesting
quote...
"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than
we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully
glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then
we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas.
Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta
children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with
Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too
stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black,
which is such a beastly colour. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

9. Sleep- teaching metaphor
When you hear the jingle of Sanborns or hear
“Expect more pay less”, you automatically think
about Sanborns or target .This is because they
have repeat it to you a thousand times. When
they repeat things over and over again it sticks
to your mind and you think about it
unconsciously.
10. World War 2 propaganda
During World War 2 propaganda was used a lot
as a war weapon. They were used mainly for
recruitment, persuasion, and motivation.
11.
12. ISIS
Isis, publishes the videos of the people they
murder as a form of propaganda, they want to
make people scared of them so no one will
challenge them, and they are using propaganda
as a form to involve other people in ISIS, by
making them think that everything ISIS does is
for the benefit of the Islamic population.
13. México
One of the most important historic examples in
Mexico is the The Tlatelolco Massacre of 1968.
President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz distracted the
attention of people from the student protests by
making them focus on the olympics.
14. The Tlatelolco Massacre
The government made people think everything
was okay, they constructed an image of a
peaceful and progressive Mexico, when in fact
a lot of things were wrong.
When they killed hundreds of students they
covered it up and made people believe
everything was fine.
15. Ayotzinapa
When the students were kidnapped the media
didn’t want to say anything because part of the
government in Iguala was part of the attack.
After the news broke out turism went down and
the goverment said that evry
16. Conclusion
On the book they make people believe their
world is perfect, and it has nothing wrong.
Nowadays governments do that too, they want
people to believe that nothing bad is going on,
when in fact a lot of bad things are going on.
In that way Brave New World is just like the real
world.
