  2. 2. Introduction: <ul><li>I will be introducing 3 different places of worship: </li></ul><ul><li>a Church or Cathedral for Christians </li></ul><ul><li>a Synagogue for Jews </li></ul><ul><li>a Temple for Buddhists </li></ul>
  3. 3. St. Hripsime Church <ul><li>This church was built in the year of 618 in Echmiadzin, Armenia. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a place for worship or church for the Catholics . </li></ul>Armenia

St. Hripsime Church <ul><li>It was one of the oldest surviving church in the whole Armenia. </li></ul><ul><li>They started to build the two-tier bell-tower with an eight-column belfry during the year of 1790. </li></ul><ul><li>This church is known for its fine Armenian architecture of the classical period, which influenced many other Armenian churches. </li></ul><ul><li>The church behind the text is the St. Hripsime Church. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Congregation Ner Tamid <ul><li>Congregation Ner Tamid is a Synagogue in California. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a place of worship for the Jewish people. </li></ul>

Congregation Ner Tamid <ul><li>The Congregation Ner Tamid is a conservative Synagogue. </li></ul><ul><li>The religion is Judaism . </li></ul><ul><li>Rabbi Isaac Jeret and Cantor Sam Radwine are the clergies of the synagogue. </li></ul><ul><li>The synagogue has launched a number of programs including the Adult Education, PreSchool and USY programs. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a place of the Jewish to gather to worship and to get together for social and fun events. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Po Lin Monastery This is a Buddhist Monastery (or Temple) in Lantau Island , Hong Kong.

Po Lin Monastery <ul><li>The monastery was founded in 1906 by three monks visiting from Jiangsu . </li></ul><ul><li>It was first known as &quot;The Big Hut&quot;. </li></ul><ul><li>It was renamed to its present name in 1924. </li></ul><ul><li>The main temple has 3 bronze statues of the Buddha representing his past, present and future lives as well as many Buddhist scriptures. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a place of worship for the Buddhism. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Next to the Temple, there is the The Tian Tan Buddha <ul><li>It is one of the 5 largest Buddha statue in the world. </li></ul><ul><li>Completed in 1993. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Tian Tan Buddha Statue <ul><li>You can go there by the bus or the new cable car, Ngong Ping 360. </li></ul><ul><li>It has become a tourist attraction of Hong Kong, China. </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>I think that the Buddha Statue is the most interesting religious thing in all the three of the worshiping places. It is because it has the statue of the god of the religion so that people can see the face of their god. </li></ul>
