1. Essay On Michael Jackson
Looking back on Michael Jackson, we remember only the good. He was a great songwriter and
had an amazing voice. Nobody else could move like he could. Even though he had an amazing
career, his life was not always easy. His father was hard on him from a young age and that took a
toll on him later in his life. If his father didn't push him to become a singer, the music industry
would not be the same. His childhood is where it all began.
Michael was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He didn't have much of a childhood because
he joined his older brothers in a musical group when he was 5 years old. Michael became the lead
singer of the group. He didn't just dance, he also had great vocals which really made him shine.
They were opening acts for people such as James Brown. Sooner or later Berry Gordy was
impressed by them so he signed them in 1969. Their career as a group was going places and they
were performing new albums on Motown.
When Michael was 13 he came out with his first albums, Got to be There and Ben. He came out
with another album, but it failed to sale. In 1979, he came out with...show more content...
Later there was rumors that he was changing his face. He changed his nose the most, making it
more thin. Michael also had vitiligo and once people started noticing, he started to change his skin
color. Michael went on his last tour with his older brothers in 1985. That was the end of the Jackson
5, but not Michael Jackson. Michael started working on new music and in 1987 he dropped the
album, "Bad." Michael never liked being in the public eye, so he built a fantasy retreat called
Neverland. People started making assumptions that Michael was changing his skin and sleeping a
chamber to increase his lifespan. He released Dangerous in 1991 which included Black or White
and it had people questioning his sexuallity. Besides that they let Michael be the halftime show at
the 27th Super Bowl in

Michael Jackson: Man In The Mirror
Michael Jackson is arguably the most well know celebrity figure in the world today. Michael
Joseph Jackson was born in August 1958, in Gary, Indiana. Jackson has spent almost his entire
life as a public performer. He was a member of the Jackson Five at the age of four, soon becoming
the group's lead vocalist and front man. Onstage, he modeled his dance moves and vocal styling on
James Brown, and portrayed an absolute self–confidence on stage that belied his shy, private
personality. Throughout his life the media has dissected his personality and projected his image on a
worldwide screen. The progression of his image has been a fascinating phenomenon, and his current

He was about to enter the long duration of his "Wacko Jacko" phase in which he would spend most
of his time in the company of children at his multi–million dollar Neverland mansion. Michael
would lose himself in his own created fantasy world. When he did reappear in the public eye it
was to promote one of his records or to film a television commercial for Pepsi Cola. His image
would slowly change from the young heartthrob Jackson we came to know and love to the
mysterious secluded world– renowned superstar that we often questioned. Not only did his public
perception and image change but with all of that his appearance took a drastic change again. His
nose was thinner than before, his eyelids were tattooed and the most dramatic change was his skin
color (Johnson, 45). Michael has always insisted that the changes in his skin color are the result of
a rare dermatological disease and not that of a cosmetic surgery. That could be true, but what cannot
be denied is that long ago, his face became his own canvas on which to create an idealized
self–image. He was creating an image of self–perfection (Saunders, 4). In time he began to look like
no one else in the world. African American's argued that as his fame grew he became more detached
from his African American roots and adopted the image and appearance of the white male. This
could be blamed on the media and the perception that an African American male could not achieve
the level of

Seven years ago, a hero that goes by the name Michael Jackson was lost. Contributions to music
and dance, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for
over four decades. Michael Jackson's humanitarian work recognized on May 14, 1984 brought him
to the White House to receive an award from President Ronald Reagan for his support of charities

volunteer my time to help the world as he did with his music and charity organizations. I cannot

His charitable work and humanitarian awards continued with the release of "We Are the World"

The song also earned $63 million for famine relief. To expand my knowledge, I joined a Global
Studies Book Study, a program that strengthens the understanding of the interconnections of global
environmental issues. I work with a group of people to research articles on global issues and
create presentations that argue for solutions as a member of the book study group. Given the
opportunity, I participate in a Water Works program through my school to bring clean water to a
village in Kenya and walked ten miles to help raise money for the program. Volunteering at the
Rotary district 7680 Honors Air event in 2012 to salute World War II veterans and thank them for
their service bought joy to my family because my family witnessed the patriotic action and the
community appreciated my action. I won a CMS Outstanding Citizenship medal that same

5. Michael Jackson Essay
Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958. He was one of ten children growing up. Michael
and his siblings grew up in a very strict home. He had many conflicts with his father, who was
physically and emotionally abusive. Michael's music career began with the formation of The
Jackson 5 in 1963, when he joined his brothers, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, and Jermaine in their already
booming musical group. This was the start of Michael's singing career. He was only five years old
at this time, and went solo in 1971 at the young age of thirteen (Internet Movie Database). His fame
continued to grow, until 1993, when things took a turn for the worse. Michael was accused of child
sexual abuse. He denied these claims, and the little boy's...show more content...
He later said that it was a huge mistake that he regrets doing. A year later, Michael was charged
with "seven counts of molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent" to a 13
year old male child. Michael was recorded holding hands and making plans to share a bed with the
boy (Internet Movie Database). Throughout his life, Michael also struggled with Body
Dysmorphic Disorder, which means that he viewed himself and his body in a defected and
morphed way. Michael may have developed this disorder because he was diagnosed with vitiligo,
which is a loss of pigmentation in the skin. Michael died on June 25th, 2009 of drug–induced
cardiac arrest at the age of 50 (Merkin, 2009). Using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders IV, Axis I deals with Clinical Syndromes. Michal Jackson was diagnosed with
Panic Disorder, Body Dimorphic Disorder and Depression. Axis II is called "Developmental
Disorders and Personality Disorders." This axis is relevant to developmental and personality
disorders, which, in my opinion, do not apply to Jackson. Dealing with physical conditions is
Axis III, which he did not suffer from either. Severity of Psychosocial Stressors, Axis IV, is where
you explain and rate the events in a person's life to cause the disorders listed in Axis I and Axis II.
