2. Michael Jackson was an American recording artist, his rise to fame started off in 1964
when he joint the Jackson brother a band his brothers produced. When he was
eight years old he started to share some of the lead vocals with his brother in the
band later meaning the band changed their name to Jackson 5.
In 1967 the band made numerous songs for the local recording label named
steeltown before signing for Motown in 1968. Michael Jackson released 4 singles
as part of the Jackson 5 franchise leading to a lot of interest. Michael Jackson was
abused by is father Joe Jackson when he was a child, if he made a mistake when
dancing or singing his father would hit him and his brothers. Michael made his file
debut in 1977 starring in ‘The Wiz’ as a scarecrow.

3. Michael Jackson decided to pursuit a solo career this is when he teamed up with
Quincey Jones who he met when starring in the film ‘The Wiz’.Quincey Jones
was the producer for his first solo album with Epic Records, the album was Off
the Wall. Michael Jackson began to take the music industry by storm . He
produced 7 hit singles from his alum Thriller breaking records, and went on to
sell over 50 million copies worldwide. Michael Jackson won a record breaking
8 Grammy awards in one night, the awards were for his work on the 'Thriller'
album.

4. • Michael Jackson was born with a medium brown skin colour as he grew older his skin started to get more
pale. This created accusation from the media and the public that Michael Jackson was bleaching his skin.
This was a rumour that lasted for many years even though his family and himself informed people that he
had the disease vitiligo and lupus. When Michael Jackson died his autopsy prove that he had the disease
he claimed to have for many years. These accusations started to create a bad image for the Pop star.
• In 1993 Michael Jackson image was damaged yet again when Jordan Chandler a 13 year old boy accused
Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him. Many of his fans believed that Michael Jackson was innocent but
many people thought he was guilty and that he was sick in the head. This portrayed Michael Jackson as a
bad individual and Michael Jackson was hurt by the allegations. Michael Jacksons image was damaged by
the allegations and leading to his albums not selling as well as Thriller

6. Michael Jackson was known for his amazing dance moves, he is an iconic dancer and a role model for many
people. One of the dance moves that he is well known for is the moonwalk which appears in the video. This
particular dance move is a trademark of Michael Jackson’s and it shows how one dance move can be
revolutionised by an individual. This video was Michael Jackson's fourth video he made he spend $500,000 in
total on it , this included visuals and special effects that were used. As his image started to grow and his fan
base increased he started to spend more money on videos. This is shown when he released the video
scream, he spent $7 million. This is a major increase from the video Billie jean, $6.5 million more was spent.
This is a large amount spent on a video and it currently is the most expensive music video made to date. It
shows that as he became more of an icon music the recording companies took more of a risk because they
believed the video will help generate as much money as they spent.
