1. VoIP A technology for using phone calls over the internet. This is used over Xbox games, on Skype and for iPhone video chat.
2. Skype is a software application that uses VoIP allowing users to make voice and video calls over the internet. Anybody can download Skype on to their computer or iPhone/iPad for free and use it for video calls to other people using Skype. An advantage of using Skype is being able to video chat to anybody in the world for free rather than having the large fees of a phone call.Another example is video calls on the iPhone that can be used to call anyone else on an iPhone using 'facetime'. 3. VoIP is used now in meetings for businesses rather than setting up a physical meeting. This has advantages for companies that have staff or clients overseas and is quick and easy to get everybody together for a meeting. Private Use
4. Companies can use VoIP to make money from customers. An example of this is the Xbox Live. Microsoft has more than 750,000 customers paying an average of $50 a year to access Xbox Live and logging approximately 500,000 hours of online game play each day. Corporate Use
