3. Aleksa’s Goal
What: My goal that I wish to accomplish is to run 8 miles and maintain a regular
gym/active schedule.
Who: I will be the one to accomplish this goal however a friend will be attending
the gym with me.
Where: Plymouth State University and the Vanderbilt Health Club in MA when I
am home.
How: I will maintain this goal by running everyday however certain days will just
be a 1-2 mile run to stay in shape. This will positively affect my personal wellness
because I want to maintain a healthy life-style and stay in shape.
When: I hope to run 8 miles by the end of December
Why: I have always been a runner and wanted to push myself to run more. I would
love to run the 5 mile breast cancer walk in honor of my aunt and partake in other
small marathons for a good cause.
4. What factors could influence my
success?
Predisposing: Having physically active friends who will run with me at
school and at home.
Enabling: I have a recreation center close to home and also the convenience
of a gym at Plymouth State.
Reinforcing: If I am running for a cause, the reward will be after I run to
the finish line.
BARRIERS
Maintaining time with school work- If there is a lot of school work to be done, it could cause
a missed day of running.
I am in the education major and constantly working with kids- illness could get in the way
and slow down my process, along with laziness because of long days.
5. Resources
Free: Free membership at Plymouth State and also be
able to run outside doesn’t cost anything.
Friends and Family: I am able to work out alone
however having the company makes me try harder and
pushes me to run more.
Support: Everyone who supports me running and gives
me the energy to keep going is a great feeling.
Motivation: I know that I have a goal and with that I
have more motivation to try harder and keeping
running more and more each time.

7. Evaluation and Assessment
Looking at the graph that I recorded, I accomplished 5
miles in 3 weeks. By week 7 I was up to 7 miles and by
week 10 I made it to 8 miles! Although I am not
consistent with the 8 miles once I completed it, I am
maintaining a gym schedule where I am running every
day. I learned that if I set a goal, and if I am positive
about what I am doing, it it not impossible to reach
that goal. With the motivation and support I look
forward to running and signing up into some kind of
half marathon or a charity walk for a cure.
