This is a question about cell culture. From my data, I found that the cell culture that using 2% FBS (fetal bovine serum) has a faster growth rate than the cell culture using 10% FBS. I would like to ask why does it happen? What is the possible reasons to explain this phenomenon? Also, why the amount of protein decrease when the cell number increase exponentially during cell culture?.

  • 1. This is a question about cell culture. From my data, I found that the cell culture that using 2% FBS (fetal bovine serum) has a faster growth rate than the cell culture using 10% FBS. I would like to ask why does it happen? What is the possible reasons to explain this phenomenon? Also, why the amount of protein decrease when the cell number increase exponentially during cell culture?
