This document is a pre-production script for the film "Party Off!" which will be produced by Testcard Films, Pianforini Studios, and Apoapsis Studios. The script introduces the main character Olivia who reflects on her life through a scrapbook, including her childhood, school years, and a falling out with her former best friend Hannah at a high school Christmas party where Hannah kissed the boy Olivia liked. The party scene shows Olivia's heartbreak and departure from the event after witnessing the kiss between Hannah and Matthew.

INT: BEDROOM - DAY
CU of scrapbook, that says “By Olivia” getting placed on
desk by girly hand. Diegetic teen-pop music plays. The
hand turns off the radio playing the music then opens the
scrapbook, showing the pictures inside. They look like
they’ve been randomly scattered around the page. All the
pictures are of her friends and a plane ticket reading:
“Testcard films present”.
OLIVIA
This is my scrapbook. It’s pretty much my entire
life.
The hand turns the page. Showing more pictures, this time
with a baby in almost every image.
OLIVIA
Almost every part of my life is stored in here. This
is my childhood.
We pass a new baby card that says “in association with
Pianforini studios”
OLIVIA
Then came the first day of school, I remember being
really excited but scared at the same time.
The page turns again to show images of the school and
pictures of a younger OLIVIA in her first school uniform,
there’s a report card of the first day with the writing
“and apoapsis studios”, the page turns showing another
picture, OLIVIA is slightly older and this time with
HANNAH, a blonde girl, not dissimilar to OLIVIA. She’s
the same age and is smiling; they look to be the best of
friends.
OLIVIA
That person there’s Hannah, We were the best of
friends, but we’ll have to get to that later...
The page is turned again, this time we see the start of
high school, a train ticket at the top of the page says
“Party Off!”, the camera pauses on this for longer than
before, then moves on. The rest of the page is filled
with pictures of OLIVIA and HANNAH together as they start
high school.
3. OLIVIA
I loved the start of high school, don’t get me
wrong, I was more worried than ever, but it was a new
start and, with Hannah moving with me, I felt that
nothing could go wrong.
The page is turned once more, showing more pictures from
high school, some of which are of a boy.
OLIVIA
When we got into year 11 things started to change,
she finally settled in with the popular crowd, and left
me behind. Then Matthew came along. He was tall, dark and
handsome, unfortunately Hannah also thought that.
The page turns again, this time there is only one
picture, it’s defaced but still clear that it’s of HANNAH
and from the party.
OLIVIA
That party was when it started, it was the
cheerleaders famous Christmas party. I only got in thanks
to Hannah, I thought she was being kind, little did I
know that all she wanted was to crush my heart.
The camera zooms onto the picture.
2. INT: PARTY – DAY
The party is set in a medium sized house, though it seems
somewhat crowded. The camera moves away to outside.
OLIVIA is outside, she looks terrible, with her makeup
running down her face. She has clearly just been crying.
OLIVIA
Let’s just go back a bit more.
The scene moves backwards past OLIVIA walking out of the
house and the party guests arriving.
3. INT: PARTY – DAY
Hannah and Matthew are together, talking and laughing, we
do not know what about. OLIVIA is on the over side of the
room, and is watching them. Part guests are arriving
throughout this scene
OLIVIA
The party had barely started, and what did I see,
Hannah. And Matthew. Together.
4. HANNAH starts to lean toward MATTHEW, at this point
OLIVIA turns away.
OLIVIA
I could hardly believe my eyes. She knew I had a
thing for him, but still she just moved on in there, like
some sort of shark, having smelt blood.
OLIVIA turns back, sees HANNAH and MATTHEW still there,
together. She drops her phone, and runs away.
OLIVIA
I just had to get out of there. Seeing that bitch
there, stealing my man. I had to leave, then.
We follow OLIVIA outside, and watch as she starts to cry.
She sits down on the side of the road, an emotional
wreck. Inside we see MATTHEW find the phone, and approach
HANNAH. This happens just as OLIVIA turns around once
more. MATTHEW leans in to HANNAH, we hear him ask about
OLIVIA. We see OLIVIA run away, even more upset than she
was before. MATTHEW sets off from the party.
