The Importance of Education Essay
The Importance of Education
"Come on sweetie, you can do it!" These words have constantly been spoken to me ever since I
was a child, and by my parents enforcing these words towards me they inspired me to achieve all
that I am able too. In the Mexican culture there are many of us who yearn to learn new things yet
there are many of our people who instead of lending a helping hand they thrust each other
downward. With this key fact in mind I push myself to become an educated person with a degree
so that I can prove to myself that if you want it you will get it. My family has always been very keen
on education. One of my childhood memories is that of my father telling us "The only great
inheritance I can leave you with is that of...show more content...
I was one of the top three readers in our 5th grade class and with this accomplishment I wished to
achieve high scores even through most years of middle school. I read books mainly about kids
like the Beverly Cleverly set about Ramona as well as the science books of marine life. With this
new program in school I learned to read fast as well as understand what I am reading. The new
books that have interested me have been the Harry Potter books since I like the way J.K.
Rowling writes creative yet understandable to all people of all ages. One of my greatest loves is to
read on a quiet afternoon with raindrops on the window cuddled in a nice throw blanket. (There
are not many of these days though.) Language is something that I look forward too such as
reading a book too learn new vocabulary or sat words that I have been taught. Although I think
my vocabulary could be improved. When I was younger I would go to school and the teacher
would only talk in English and then when I returned home my dad would only speak in Spanish.
I remember my dad always making fun of me because I would use both English and Spanish when
talking to my family. One fond memory of this is that I would say, "Like asi" meaning "like this, "
since I would get confused and use both languages. I am grateful for learning two languages because
at my recent job (Mc Donald's – one quick suggestion Do Not Ever work at a fast food restaurant!) I

The benefits of education can never be stolen from you, but can help you grow and evolve. Aside
from leading you to better job opportunities, education will also make you surround yourself with
people that will push you to become your best self. Education is also the hope most blue–collar and
poor minority have to improve their future and create a better one for their kids. It is also the key to
a better and brighter mindset. I intend to discuss the significance of post–secondary education and
summarize the arguments of authors and their points of view. I will also reflect on the importance of
education and how it will fit into my future, for example attending a four–year university and getting
my bachelor's degree to pursue my dream of becoming independent and having something that will
lead me to a brighter future and mindset.
Several of our authors have written about the significance of education. In "Why Go to College?" The
University of North Texas asserts that college should be considered nothing less than a lifetime
investment. The purpose of this article is to show many high school graduates why college is
significant by stating many positive aspects. It also intends to help undecided high school seniors
and (parents) see college in a beneficial and positive way. This text is significant because it proves
that college is a lifetime investment that will help you build a better future. According to The
University of North Texas, attending college will help you define

The Importance of Education
Education has always been a crucial part of society for the past centuries. Some believe that our
education is a privilege. Some believe that our education is a right. Some believe that our education
is an obligation. The only obligation we might have towards education is to treat it as a privilege as
well as a right, but certainly not an obligation to have an education. Education has been the basis for
the success we see in our parents, our teachers, and more importantly, ourselves.
Over time, people have considered and concluded that education is a privilege. Education is a
privilege because not many people can afford an education, and we should be grateful that we have
this opportunity that...show more content...
This is true because you cannot be denied an education based on your nationality, skin color, hair
color, or any physical features, even being handicapped. It is the right of the individual to seek an
education, as long as the individual is fully capable financially and mentally. Let say ?Melissa,? a
fictional fourteen–year–old African–American girl, wants to attend Hinsdale Central. A fairly good
school, if I do say so myself, for a student to attend preceding college, as I have. Let?s say Hinsdale
Central refuses to let Melissa attend their school for various reasons, such as her skin color. It?s
Melissa?s constitutional right to contest this decision by the fact that the school denied her
admittance based on her skin color, which is discrimination. However, the school does not have to
admit Melissa, even though she is completely qualified. The individual does not have the right to an
education, but rather has the right to seek and education. The individual can only have a right to an
education if the school offering the education refuses them based on physical features.
What about obligations, is an education one of them? Education can be an obligation in a personal
way, but education is certainly not an obligation to receive in the general aspect. If a person feels
obligated about their education, they are most likely not going to be motivated. Motivation comes
from the parents, the teachers, and the

I am a strong person who never gives up. I think everyone should know that education is one of
the most important assets you can achieve in a lifetime. I think we all get busy looking for a quicker
way to make it and take education for granted. At a young age I dropped out of school, got engaged,
got married, got divorced all while spiraling down a dark path of addiction. I took a look at my life
and being a single mother of three beautiful strong loving boys it was time to grow up and go back to
school. So that hopefully I could become a positive role model for my children. So they can learn
that it is never to late to turn your life around no matter how dark it seems.
So at a young age of sixteen I let the pressures of bullying and...show more content...

years later and a date with this wrong person and that wrong person I am two years sober Nov 17,
2017 anyone who has ever been an addict will understand how important that date is. But here I
am sober, and going back to school. "You ask how all this came about", well amongst all the
darkness I found a great friend. He told me that I needed to stop messing around and get my life
together before I lost my children. Believe me I was told this by my relatives, and my mom but
what did they know lol. Wow right even though he couldn't save himself and take his own advise he
saved my life. The seed was planted. For this I will always hold a very special place in my heart just

So here I am guys on my road to recovery. So no matter what your going through never give up .
Keep fighting the struggle whatever your struggle may be. I'm going to continue on my path sober

The Importance of Education
Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change
the world". Education is more than only reading from books, it is more than a college degree. This
topic is one of the most important things every person should have. We can findeducation
everywhere at any moment, it is a necessity of life that is in every single situation of our life.
Some people may think education is not for everybody, however, we can prove that this is one of
the most important things of life. One reason is because like in the quote of the beginning,
education is, "a powerful weapon to change the world", meaning that education gives us
acknowledge of the world around us, and if things looked disagreeable we can change it into
something better. Another reason is to develop a perspective to look at life, to build opinions or
have a point of view about life. The key word for education is future. To begin with, education
plays a big part in each person's life. When I pronounce the word "education", many people may
think only about getting high scores in college, but it is not only about it. We all should think out
of the box and have in mind that the only "weapon" we have, is education. With "weapon" I mean
that is the only thing with which we can make a change in our own life. The changes in life begin
with the most significant thing we have, and seeing this from a perspective, the only thing we have
right now is education, which is

Impact of Education Essay
Impact of Education Education is one of the most essential necessities of a personal life because
without education, we would not have a brighter future. In two essays "Learning to Read and Write"
and "A Homemade Education", Malcolm and Douglass describe what they have gone through in
order to become more successful in their pursuits in life. While Malcolm X lived part of his life in
prison, he spent his time writing numerous definitions from a dictionary amongst the walls and
tables. The elements of the dictionary motivated him to not only become a free man, but a well
educated one at that. Douglass, who also taught himself, began his life in slavery. But after a series
of attempts, he escapes from slavery and pursues into his...show more content...
Another impact of achieving an education is that it brings knowledge to one's life. Knowledge is a
powerful benefit for people in their understandings. Both Douglass and Malcolm also recognized
the power of knowledge that impacted them into following education. With great effort, Malcolm
was fascinated with the knowledge he gained "I could for the first time pick up a book and read
and now begin to understand what the book was saying"(81). He made a progress in reading to
understand the contents of a book even if it is the first time he picked it up. Knowledge also
assisted Douglass in finding the injustice of slavery and motivating him to gain his freedom. In the
essay "Learning to Read and Write", he states that "the more I read, the more I was lead to abhor
and detest my enslavers. I could regard them in no other light than a band of successful robbers,
who had left their home, and gone to Africa, and stolen us from our homes and in a stargerland
reduced us to slavery."(64). He became cognizant of what fate was in hold for the enslavers. That
idea impacted him to gain more knowledge and escape slavery to share his knowledge and what
must be done. Today, people who want to gain knowledge have to go to school for their education.
People that attend are taught the essential lessons that they need in order to move forward in life.
Out of everyone in my family, I am the only one given the chance to go to college.

The planet is plagued by ignorance and the only vaccine to fight against it and make a difference is
education. It means being free of poverty and from the common stereotypes and labels. We must
educate ourselves in order to run away from these things. As Nelson Mandela states "Education is
the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". This quote illustrates the
significance of education in the world, and how with it can potentially change the turbulent world
we live in. It is how we're going to break all barriers between each other, uniting us all as one In
order for people to stop being unaware they must learn. They must be willing to listen first and talk
last. People base their thoughts on ignorance, not willing to learn from others. Activists wonder how
our nation will progress as a whole if we don't attempt to learn from one another? Learning on your
own is very important, but learning through others is even better. More thoughts, ideas and
opinions are being expressed if we learn and teach other people. A lifelong process, I've come to
the understanding that education can start from anywhere, you just have to look for it. It isn't
innate, or inherited, it is absorbed through our parents, peers and teachers as we grow and progress
through the journey we all know as life. The more we expose ourselves to new and interesting things
the more educated and well–rounded we become. It helps us grow, mature and useful citizens.

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

The Importance Of Education
Education is an ultra–important aspect of our country's success; it has been from the beginnings of
our nation. We live in an ever–changing society on a global level, and the quality of education we
need to survive and thrive in the world today is growing every day. Our nation has always been a
part of education growth, but we deserve the proper education system in order to stay caught up with
other education systems in our world today; why shouldn't the United States be at the top of global
education and growth? Education will always be a pressing issue for our nation, and we need to
tackle this obstacle in a practical way.
The Practical Idealism Party's stance on education is as follows: every individual has the right to
a healthy and beneficial education that prepares them for whatever they do throughout their
lives. We believe in a more individualized approach to education, particularly at the high school
level. It is better for each person to be prepared for their individual life than it is for everyone to
be educated the same way, like a cattle feedlot. Each student should be able to learn specific to
their goals and aspirations; a future journalist should not be in Trigonometry just to fulfill a class
requirement. Likewise, a hopeful physicist doesn't need advanced English, or Ancient History III.
We all have Google in our pockets; it is no longer necessary for us to "know" everything. Under the
Practical Idealism Education Platform, our students will have been

The Importance of Education
Education and learning is one of the most important processes in today's society.
Today's youth are tomorrow's teachers. In the "banking method" or education by memorization, the
student's are not being taught; they are only expected to memorize the material, which is not
actually a learning process. Although there are a lot of misconceptions to the "Banking method", I
think that there are also a lot of good to this method as well. I think that the teacher's job is to fill the
students with their knowledge, but I don't think this is the only job of the teacher. The teacher also
needs to present the material in a way that is interesting to the students. The teachers should not only
give the information and...show more content...
Mathematics is one subject that can be used by the "banking method" because in math
memorization is a big part of the way you learn how to do certain problems. Everything in math is
pretty much cumulative and therefore memorizing the material helps you to be able to do harder and
more advanced problems later on.
Education is the key to advancing in life in this day and age. In order for you to have a good paying
job, you need to have graduated not only from high school but also from college. Today more and
more people are looking for workers that have a college degree in order to fulfill their roles in the
job world. I know that I was looking for a job over the summer and because I haven't graduated from
college my options were very limited. I pretty much had to choose from a restaurant business or a
clothing store or something along that line, where you don't make much more than minimum wage.
I feel like in order to fill the roles at a job that I am majoring in, I need to be able to know the
material and not just be familiar with it. I am going to school to major in nursing and I know that I
wouldn't personally want my nurse to just have memorized the key terms of nursing. I want my
nurse to know what she is doing and to be able to trust her judgments. Nurses have to have a lot of
knowledge about the human body and what it does, and this is necessary in order for them to
perform what they do.

Education is important in any society. Parents, teachers and even political leaders encourage
education in our society. Many people do not understand why there is so much emphasis placed
upon obtaining a good education. This is why some people do not put in as much effort as they
should. It is important that everyone understand the many benefits of education aside from getting a
job and earning a salary. This knowledge will help you to develop an attitude that is conducive to
learning. You will enjoy the true benefits of education. This essay will explore a number of reasons
why education is so important.

Expose yourself to a completely new world.
Fun and Adventure
People view formal education in a negative light. This is schooling where people only look at
voluminous books, boring teachers and hard exams. Education is actually fun and adventurous. You
learn about new things, meet new people and pursue new interests. It gives you a chance to interact
with people other than your neighbors and family members. It also provides an escape for those who
suffer from stressful situations at home. You should adopt a positive attitude towards education. This
attitude will help you see the fun in education. Adopt it today.
Build a Network
You need friends who care about you. Finding good friends is not easy. It takes time, patience and
perseverance. Experience is usually the best way of finding good friends. Education allows you to
gain this experience by interacting with people within formal and informal settings. You know
people better through these experiences. This helps you to choose a close group of good friends.
This group will then become your network within society's entangled web of networks. You can call
upon this network in times of trouble. You will find it hard to build a network of friends and
colleagues without education. This means that you should pursue education as much as you can.
Develop Skills in Life
You will apply what you learn in the classroom beyond the confines of theschool or office.

The Importance of Education
Why do we say that everyone must obtain an education to be successful in life? This is one of many
questions that people ask about education. Some people ask: what does acquiring an education do for
someone that just wants to go to work after he or she finishes high school? He or she may think that it
is possible just to graduate from high school and start working. Well it is possible, in some
occupations but for those people who want to have a large amount of money and have the best job,
well they need an education. I will talk about many reasons that an education is important and many
things that will affect his or her life...show more content...
People that have an education make more money than those people who do not have an
education. It is often possible that someone that does not have an education can be making more
than someone that does. I know someone that owns his own business because he took it over
when he was young and he does not have any education, and he is making more than my aunt who
has an education. This does not always happen and for the most part everyone in this world should
get an education. In some jobs you are paid by your education. Like teachers can get paid up to
almost $30 dollars an hour if they have a master's degree. Sometimes it does depend on what district
and school you are teaching in.
There are more advantages to having an education than there are in failing to have an education.
My advice to everyone is that you go out and get an education because it will be worth it in the
end. I know that for a while everyone was saying that as long as you have a high school diploma
you can make the money you want, that is not true. We should know that is not true because to
make the money a doctor makes you have to have an education to be a doctor to make the same
money as he or she does. We should also know that we cannot make money and keep a job without
having the best education there is possible. I have a chart that will show some of the advantages to
having an education and the disadvantages to failing to

The Importance Of Equity In Education
Over the past few centuries, the education system has had several changes, some positive, some
negative, and some controversial. But ultimately the goal is to format and build the educational
school system, we need to support our students so they can be successful in their life's. "During the
past 30 years, local school districts have gradually yielded policy–making discretion to state
legislatures and bureaucracies. States' efforts to achieve equity and improve student and teacher
performance have considerably diminished local controls over funding, standards, and curricular
content" (Hadderman,1988). Though I think that local control of schools does deal side by side with
the schools, I believe that the state can offer more support during the policies discussion and along
with input into the budgeting of each state, for education. Equity in the classroom to me means that
all children and teachers should have equal opportunity to express and develop thought into the
classroom discussions. Especially when young children are starting to develop their thought process,
key point to encourage their thoughts. We as the educators need to find ways to support the
children's language and knowledge of their surroundings. In many situations, the schools fail to be
successful due to the need of money, to be able purchase materials needed to teach and assist the
students. School district budgets should include bring more teachers into the school to lower the
classroom size. Along with assisting the teachers that have students who learn at different levels. I
wonder that if special education classes have enough materials. For example, in my son's high school
, I have seen that they need more technology. Yet it turns out that technology has their own budget,
as well as staffing contains their own budget. The hard work and good intentions of educators who
often lacked professional support and sometimes worked in substandard conditions (Blankstein,
Noguera, & Kelly, 2016, p. 186). Sadly, many schools don't fix the building or classroom that need
improvements, so that the students can have safe and well lighted and fully stored with the needed
materials. As a teacher can you really work if you don't have enough

Imagine not understanding the world we are living in, and having a job without an education, so
you can provide for your family. Education significantly impacts everyone in this world. "As of
2012, 31 million primary–school pupils worldwide dropped out of school. An additional 32 million
repeated a grade."Education is a human right, it provides security, and gives us knowledge of the
world around us, however, some people may think that education is not important.
Education is a human right, it provides security, and gives us knowledge of the world around us. It
is a human right included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations
Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 26; "Everyone has the right to education. Education
shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages." Education provides security in
many forms. Without education, you do not have security. Education provides security by being
well aware and learning information about the world around you. If you did not know what has
been happening around you, how to protect yourself, or how to read you would not feel secure.
Education intertwines with security which is also a human right. Article 3; "Everyone has the right

This world is filled with different types of people, some who believe education is gained through
one way, a series of standardized tests or even ___. However, there are some people who base
education off of an individual's own natural mind. The growth of a child is necessary no matter
which way they gain their knowledge. As a society, we must accept the tender plants of youth and
any weeds along the way. Knowing that each person has different flaws and different strengths, if
that is cultivated instead of being weeded out, it can be more beneficial for a society as whole
because it brings in the versatility needed for a society to function properly.
Emerson once said, "Respect the pupil" (Emerson 83). As a student in this modern society,...show

While it may be true that in order to be successful, every student needs to be challenged and told
the difference between their strengths and weaknesses, this should not become a constant way of
pushing the idea of success as an individual's only option. It's important for each student to realize
that smartness is not based off of how many formulas or ideas they could memorize but what they
plan on doing with the formulas and ideas they have learned. However, if a child doesn't want to
gain knowledge through such processes, let him down his own way, the only value is to know that
they are learning and respecting what they learn instead of knowing if for a short period of time and
once they move on to the next piece of material, they forget what they learned before because that
information has no relevancy to them now.
There are certain instances in life, where the end result is less meaningful than everything in
between. If we begin to train the younger generations to look for what they need from education
versus what they should want, our society will be conformed to thinking that all minds work the
same. This is where Emerson's words of wisdom come to life in which he said, "keep his nature and
arm it with knowledge in the very direction to which it points (Emerson). This signifies that this
direction might not be the same for all, mine might be left

Children do not seem to have a sense of future and they often live in the present which is valuable
because they are still young. Schooling puts pressure on their future because they are candidates of
the future and their adult life is on hold. Though children are young to yet decide their future, they
should have the options and experiences to have references for their ideal adult life. Dewey puts
pressure on teachers have a duty to facilitate the students to help discover what they are interested in.
By finding students' interest, teachers should teach their students in the idea play so that students do
not seem to be forced to learn something but rather it is because they want to learn. To add on, he
believes that children should be making the choices through experiences and emphasizes "hand–on"
learning which further indicates teaching in play and having experiences. Dewar uses the phrase
"think for oneself" to the ideal education system, a person doing an action based on their own
decisions without the help or influences of others which means that the proper way of teaching is,
teachers aren't supposed to feed children the answers but rather children are suppose to come up

Importance of Education
"A man without education is like a building without a foundation" –Anonymous
Education plays a vital role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. By acquiring the skills necessary to
be productive members, society can become a better nation. They can also increase the knowledge to
achieve the public goals actively and meet challenges that can produce change and impact towards
citizens. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also
educate themselves. Some authors stress education's value to an individual, highlighting it's potential
for positively influencing student's personal development and establishing a career and occupation.
The knowledge society obtains from education helps people to think creatively through analysis, and
much more. Training gives people a perspective on the world, and also helps the community as a
whole to shape their opinions and enables them to help others as well. The more educated the public
becomes; the more resourceful they will be to this generation and the next.
A direct effect of education would be knowledge gain. Learning allows individuals to broaden their
knowledge in an area they have an interest. Schooling requires work, dedication, and faith to gain
experience. Gaining knowledge will help people become more self–empowered and to look after
themselves in more situations than before. Being able to get an education helps people
understand themselves better, but also appreciate the others as well. Knowing and understanding
himself better, in turn, leads to better decision making, setting and reaching appropriate goals and
ultimately living a more productive life. Education helps me have more control and let me make
better choices when making important decisions in my life. It will help me be successful on
whatever path I choose to take. Having a meaningful career will be as a result of my education,
and it will make me soar high in my field of study because I acquire new knowledge every day.
Schooling will decide if my future will either be negative or positive so that I will be in control of
my fate and my destiny. People can gain knowledge by studying, practicing, being taught, and

Education : The Importance Of Education
So, what is education? I was able to know its meaning but was still dwindling with the idea of
having education and what can it be used for? "Study hard to become a successful person" these
words from my parents always motivated me to go to school. Learning formally by going to school
meant education to me. But was this enough to know the true meaning of education? Is fulfilling our
desires, making our parents, family proud of ourselves by getting the highest degree of education or
by having a bright future is what an educated person meant to be? These questions kept puzzling me,
I was on a quest to unravel these mysteries.
One thing was sure to me about the importance of education that is to have a bright future and
become a successful person. I was not sure if fulfilling desires and our goals lie behind the main
importance of education. I kept on asking my teachers and parents but everyone kept me saying the
same thing "get an education, go to school, and have a good future." What about those successful
businessmen who had no any school education, they still have good fortune and have a bright
future? Was going to school sufficient enough to have an education? My grandpa had no any formal
education, but he was experienced enough to know about various things. It stricken me hard, I was
learning something from my Grandpa in an informal way, and the things I learned from my parents,
volunteering activities all were part of getting informal experiences. I added something to my

Essays On The Importance Of Education

  • 1. The Importance of Education Essay The Importance of Education "Come on sweetie, you can do it!" These words have constantly been spoken to me ever since I was a child, and by my parents enforcing these words towards me they inspired me to achieve all that I am able too. In the Mexican culture there are many of us who yearn to learn new things yet there are many of our people who instead of lending a helping hand they thrust each other downward. With this key fact in mind I push myself to become an educated person with a degree so that I can prove to myself that if you want it you will get it. My family has always been very keen on education. One of my childhood memories is that of my father telling us "The only great inheritance I can leave you with is that of...show more content... I was one of the top three readers in our 5th grade class and with this accomplishment I wished to achieve high scores even through most years of middle school. I read books mainly about kids like the Beverly Cleverly set about Ramona as well as the science books of marine life. With this new program in school I learned to read fast as well as understand what I am reading. The new books that have interested me have been the Harry Potter books since I like the way J.K. Rowling writes creative yet understandable to all people of all ages. One of my greatest loves is to read on a quiet afternoon with raindrops on the window cuddled in a nice throw blanket. (There are not many of these days though.) Language is something that I look forward too such as reading a book too learn new vocabulary or sat words that I have been taught. Although I think my vocabulary could be improved. When I was younger I would go to school and the teacher would only talk in English and then when I returned home my dad would only speak in Spanish. I remember my dad always making fun of me because I would use both English and Spanish when talking to my family. One fond memory of this is that I would say, "Like asi" meaning "like this, " since I would get confused and use both languages. I am grateful for learning two languages because at my recent job (Mc Donald's – one quick suggestion Do Not Ever work at a fast food restaurant!) I was one of the few who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Importance Of Education The benefits of education can never be stolen from you, but can help you grow and evolve. Aside from leading you to better job opportunities, education will also make you surround yourself with people that will push you to become your best self. Education is also the hope most blue–collar and poor minority have to improve their future and create a better one for their kids. It is also the key to a better and brighter mindset. I intend to discuss the significance of post–secondary education and summarize the arguments of authors and their points of view. I will also reflect on the importance of education and how it will fit into my future, for example attending a four–year university and getting my bachelor's degree to pursue my dream of becoming independent and having something that will lead me to a brighter future and mindset. Several of our authors have written about the significance of education. In "Why Go to College?" The University of North Texas asserts that college should be considered nothing less than a lifetime investment. The purpose of this article is to show many high school graduates why college is significant by stating many positive aspects. It also intends to help undecided high school seniors and (parents) see college in a beneficial and positive way. This text is significant because it proves that college is a lifetime investment that will help you build a better future. According to The University of North Texas, attending college will help you define Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Importance of Education Essay The Importance of Education Education has always been a crucial part of society for the past centuries. Some believe that our education is a privilege. Some believe that our education is a right. Some believe that our education is an obligation. The only obligation we might have towards education is to treat it as a privilege as well as a right, but certainly not an obligation to have an education. Education has been the basis for the success we see in our parents, our teachers, and more importantly, ourselves. Over time, people have considered and concluded that education is a privilege. Education is a privilege because not many people can afford an education, and we should be grateful that we have this opportunity that...show more content... This is true because you cannot be denied an education based on your nationality, skin color, hair color, or any physical features, even being handicapped. It is the right of the individual to seek an education, as long as the individual is fully capable financially and mentally. Let say ?Melissa,? a fictional fourteen–year–old African–American girl, wants to attend Hinsdale Central. A fairly good school, if I do say so myself, for a student to attend preceding college, as I have. Let?s say Hinsdale Central refuses to let Melissa attend their school for various reasons, such as her skin color. It?s Melissa?s constitutional right to contest this decision by the fact that the school denied her admittance based on her skin color, which is discrimination. However, the school does not have to admit Melissa, even though she is completely qualified. The individual does not have the right to an education, but rather has the right to seek and education. The individual can only have a right to an education if the school offering the education refuses them based on physical features. What about obligations, is an education one of them? Education can be an obligation in a personal way, but education is certainly not an obligation to receive in the general aspect. If a person feels obligated about their education, they are most likely not going to be motivated. Motivation comes from the parents, the teachers, and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Importance Of Education I am a strong person who never gives up. I think everyone should know that education is one of the most important assets you can achieve in a lifetime. I think we all get busy looking for a quicker way to make it and take education for granted. At a young age I dropped out of school, got engaged, got married, got divorced all while spiraling down a dark path of addiction. I took a look at my life and being a single mother of three beautiful strong loving boys it was time to grow up and go back to school. So that hopefully I could become a positive role model for my children. So they can learn that it is never to late to turn your life around no matter how dark it seems. So at a young age of sixteen I let the pressures of bullying and...show more content... "You can see where I'm going with this ", right. Then I met my youngest sons father, we had a rocky relationship with his infidelity and my occasional drug use match made in heaven. Who am I kidding occasional drug use is there such a thing as an occasional addict, no. Well thirteen years later and a date with this wrong person and that wrong person I am two years sober Nov 17, 2017 anyone who has ever been an addict will understand how important that date is. But here I am sober, and going back to school. "You ask how all this came about", well amongst all the darkness I found a great friend. He told me that I needed to stop messing around and get my life together before I lost my children. Believe me I was told this by my relatives, and my mom but what did they know lol. Wow right even though he couldn't save himself and take his own advise he saved my life. The seed was planted. For this I will always hold a very special place in my heart just for him forever. So here I am guys on my road to recovery. So no matter what your going through never give up . Keep fighting the struggle whatever your struggle may be. I'm going to continue on my path sober of course. Believe me there are days that seem overwhelming and I still want to give up but I keep going. Teaching my children that no mater what stay strong and never give up. We are mending our family however slowly every step we take forward. I am blessed for this second chance at life and won't take it for granted. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Education Essay : The Importance Of Education The Importance of Education Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Education is more than only reading from books, it is more than a college degree. This topic is one of the most important things every person should have. We can findeducation everywhere at any moment, it is a necessity of life that is in every single situation of our life. Some people may think education is not for everybody, however, we can prove that this is one of the most important things of life. One reason is because like in the quote of the beginning, education is, "a powerful weapon to change the world", meaning that education gives us acknowledge of the world around us, and if things looked disagreeable we can change it into something better. Another reason is to develop a perspective to look at life, to build opinions or have a point of view about life. The key word for education is future. To begin with, education plays a big part in each person's life. When I pronounce the word "education", many people may think only about getting high scores in college, but it is not only about it. We all should think out of the box and have in mind that the only "weapon" we have, is education. With "weapon" I mean that is the only thing with which we can make a change in our own life. The changes in life begin with the most significant thing we have, and seeing this from a perspective, the only thing we have right now is education, which is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Impact of Education Essay Impact of Education Education is one of the most essential necessities of a personal life because without education, we would not have a brighter future. In two essays "Learning to Read and Write" and "A Homemade Education", Malcolm and Douglass describe what they have gone through in order to become more successful in their pursuits in life. While Malcolm X lived part of his life in prison, he spent his time writing numerous definitions from a dictionary amongst the walls and tables. The elements of the dictionary motivated him to not only become a free man, but a well educated one at that. Douglass, who also taught himself, began his life in slavery. But after a series of attempts, he escapes from slavery and pursues into his...show more content... Another impact of achieving an education is that it brings knowledge to one's life. Knowledge is a powerful benefit for people in their understandings. Both Douglass and Malcolm also recognized the power of knowledge that impacted them into following education. With great effort, Malcolm was fascinated with the knowledge he gained "I could for the first time pick up a book and read and now begin to understand what the book was saying"(81). He made a progress in reading to understand the contents of a book even if it is the first time he picked it up. Knowledge also assisted Douglass in finding the injustice of slavery and motivating him to gain his freedom. In the essay "Learning to Read and Write", he states that "the more I read, the more I was lead to abhor and detest my enslavers. I could regard them in no other light than a band of successful robbers, who had left their home, and gone to Africa, and stolen us from our homes and in a stargerland reduced us to slavery."(64). He became cognizant of what fate was in hold for the enslavers. That idea impacted him to gain more knowledge and escape slavery to share his knowledge and what must be done. Today, people who want to gain knowledge have to go to school for their education. People that attend are taught the essential lessons that they need in order to move forward in life. Out of everyone in my family, I am the only one given the chance to go to college. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Importance Of Education The planet is plagued by ignorance and the only vaccine to fight against it and make a difference is education. It means being free of poverty and from the common stereotypes and labels. We must educate ourselves in order to run away from these things. As Nelson Mandela states "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". This quote illustrates the significance of education in the world, and how with it can potentially change the turbulent world we live in. It is how we're going to break all barriers between each other, uniting us all as one In order for people to stop being unaware they must learn. They must be willing to listen first and talk last. People base their thoughts on ignorance, not willing to learn from others. Activists wonder how our nation will progress as a whole if we don't attempt to learn from one another? Learning on your own is very important, but learning through others is even better. More thoughts, ideas and opinions are being expressed if we learn and teach other people. A lifelong process, I've come to the understanding that education can start from anywhere, you just have to look for it. It isn't innate, or inherited, it is absorbed through our parents, peers and teachers as we grow and progress through the journey we all know as life. The more we expose ourselves to new and interesting things the more educated and well–rounded we become. It helps us grow, mature and useful citizens. • 8. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Access Access to a reliable, equitable and high–quality education can has a lasting positive effect on...show more content... Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 9. The Importance Of Education Education is an ultra–important aspect of our country's success; it has been from the beginnings of our nation. We live in an ever–changing society on a global level, and the quality of education we need to survive and thrive in the world today is growing every day. Our nation has always been a part of education growth, but we deserve the proper education system in order to stay caught up with other education systems in our world today; why shouldn't the United States be at the top of global education and growth? Education will always be a pressing issue for our nation, and we need to tackle this obstacle in a practical way. The Practical Idealism Party's stance on education is as follows: every individual has the right to a healthy and beneficial education that prepares them for whatever they do throughout their lives. We believe in a more individualized approach to education, particularly at the high school level. It is better for each person to be prepared for their individual life than it is for everyone to be educated the same way, like a cattle feedlot. Each student should be able to learn specific to their goals and aspirations; a future journalist should not be in Trigonometry just to fulfill a class requirement. Likewise, a hopeful physicist doesn't need advanced English, or Ancient History III. We all have Google in our pockets; it is no longer necessary for us to "know" everything. • 10. The Importance of Education Essay The Importance of Education Education and learning is one of the most important processes in today's society. Today's youth are tomorrow's teachers. In the "banking method" or education by memorization, the student's are not being taught; they are only expected to memorize the material, which is not actually a learning process. Although there are a lot of misconceptions to the "Banking method", I think that there are also a lot of good to this method as well. I think that the teacher's job is to fill the students with their knowledge, but I don't think this is the only job of the teacher. The teacher also needs to present the material in a way that is interesting to the students. The teachers should not only give the information and...show more content... Mathematics is one subject that can be used by the "banking method" because in math memorization is a big part of the way you learn how to do certain problems. Everything in math is pretty much cumulative and therefore memorizing the material helps you to be able to do harder and more advanced problems later on. Education is the key to advancing in life in this day and age. In order for you to have a good paying job, you need to have graduated not only from high school but also from college. Today more and more people are looking for workers that have a college degree in order to fulfill their roles in the job world. I know that I was looking for a job over the summer and because I haven't graduated from college my options were very limited. I pretty much had to choose from a restaurant business or a clothing store or something along that line, where you don't make much more than minimum wage. I feel like in order to fill the roles at a job that I am majoring in, I need to be able to know the material and not just be familiar with it. I am going to school to major in nursing and I know that I wouldn't personally want my nurse to just have memorized the key terms of nursing. I want my nurse to know what she is doing and to be able to trust her judgments. Nurses have to have a lot of knowledge about the human body and what it does, and this is necessary in order for them to perform what they do. • 12. What Is The Importance Of Education Essay The Importance of Education Kandace L. Cottrell Eng 102 11–16–2010 Normand Hays The Importance of Education Why do we say that everyone must obtain an education to be successful in life? This is one of many questions that people ask about education. Some people ask: what does acquiring an education do for someone that just wants to go to work after he or she finishes high school? He or she may think that it is possible just to graduate from high school and start working. Well it is possible, in some occupations but for those people who want to have a large amount of money and have the best job, well they need an education. I will talk about many reasons that an education is important and many things that will affect his or her life...show more content... People that have an education make more money than those people who do not have an education. It is often possible that someone that does not have an education can be making more than someone that does. I know someone that owns his own business because he took it over when he was young and he does not have any education, and he is making more than my aunt who has an education. This does not always happen and for the most part everyone in this world should get an education. In some jobs you are paid by your education. Like teachers can get paid up to almost $30 dollars an hour if they have a master's degree. Sometimes it does depend on what district and school you are teaching in. There are more advantages to having an education than there are in failing to have an education. My advice to everyone is that you go out and get an education because it will be worth it in the end. I know that for a while everyone was saying that as long as you have a high school diploma you can make the money you want, that is not true. We should know that is not true because to make the money a doctor makes you have to have an education to be a doctor to make the same money as he or she does. We should also know that we cannot make money and keep a job without having the best education there is possible. I have a chart that will show some of the advantages to having an education and the disadvantages to failing to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. The Importance Of Equity In Education Over the past few centuries, the education system has had several changes, some positive, some negative, and some controversial. But ultimately the goal is to format and build the educational school system, we need to support our students so they can be successful in their life's. "During the past 30 years, local school districts have gradually yielded policy–making discretion to state legislatures and bureaucracies. States' efforts to achieve equity and improve student and teacher performance have considerably diminished local controls over funding, standards, and curricular content" (Hadderman,1988). Though I think that local control of schools does deal side by side with the schools, I believe that the state can offer more support during the policies discussion and along with input into the budgeting of each state, for education. Equity in the classroom to me means that all children and teachers should have equal opportunity to express and develop thought into the classroom discussions. Especially when young children are starting to develop their thought process, key point to encourage their thoughts. We as the educators need to find ways to support the children's language and knowledge of their surroundings. In many situations, the schools fail to be successful due to the need of money, to be able purchase materials needed to teach and assist the students. School district budgets should include bring more teachers into the school to lower the classroom size. Along with assisting the teachers that have students who learn at different levels. I wonder that if special education classes have enough materials. For example, in my son's high school , I have seen that they need more technology. Yet it turns out that technology has their own budget, as well as staffing contains their own budget. The hard work and good intentions of educators who often lacked professional support and sometimes worked in substandard conditions (Blankstein, Noguera, & Kelly, 2016, p. 186). Sadly, many schools don't fix the building or classroom that need improvements, so that the students can have safe and well lighted and fully stored with the needed materials. It is a human right included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 26; "Everyone has the right to education. However, there are some people who base education off of an individual's own natural mind. The growth of a child is necessary no matter which way they gain their knowledge. As a society, we must accept the tender plants of youth and any weeds along the way. Knowing that each person has different flaws and different strengths, if that is cultivated instead of being weeded out, it can be more beneficial for a society as whole because it brings in the versatility needed for a society to function properly. While it may be true that in order to be successful, every student needs to be challenged and told the difference between their strengths and weaknesses, this should not become a constant way of pushing the idea of success as an individual's only option. It's important for each student to realize that smartness is not based off of how many formulas or ideas they could memorize but what they plan on doing with the formulas and ideas they have learned. However, if a child doesn't want to gain knowledge through such processes, let him down his own way, the only value is to know that they are learning and respecting what they learn instead of knowing if for a short period of time and once they move on to the next piece of material, they forget what they learned before because that information has no relevancy to them now.
