4. Features of a paragraph
• A paragraph should focus on one single topic
• A paragraph has a topic sentence that states the main
idea about the topic
• All supporting sentences in the paragraph must be
relevant to the main idea in the topic sentence.
• The concluding sentence brings the paragraph to a
logical end.
• The first line of the paragraph is indented.
• You should give your paragraph a catchy title which
best summarizes the main idea of the whole
paragraph.
